  • Why do humans have a sense of commitment to a country?

I find it strange. I live in the U.S. and don't feel patriotic of a strange sense to back my country over useless debate of superiority.

  • Question of Military.?

This is just a theory on my part, so if I seem wrong or out of line, I just want to let you know this is not a question to make a serious debate about.

So...throughout history, strong militaries are seen as a achievement. Or at least a success or something to stride for. Examples are Rome, Alexander, Mongolia, etc. People who currently live see them as power houses. Conquers of the world. Games, TV shows, Movies are made about their gains.

But, in current date, the U.S. is seen as equals to those empires, but they don't share the same aura as the others.

Why is that? That's my question.

  • how to get my mom to get a new internet?

Here's the deal, my mom pays 50$ a month on the internet. But its the slowest internet I've ever seen. We have the same router from 12 years ago. The new internet we are looking at cost 80$ a month and she says she doesn't want to pay for it. Honestly, I would want a new internet, but I'm not going to go insane over it, but the internet she has now is no way worth 50$ a month. It took me 40hrs to download a 20g game. The internet is always choppy, and will freeze.

  • Your thoughts on U.S. and allies possible attack on Syria?

To be honest I only have the data given to us, and I'm current that isn't even half of it. A part of me wants to see the Syrian people get help, but what are the western countries helping? Radicals rebels? I'm tired of U.S. intervention (being a U.S. citizen), I wish we could become non-interventionist, but that would never happen. Rambling on now, I just needed to let this out. Would like to hear from both sides.

  • Should I let me dog in?

I have a two year old Pit bull, who is scared of the rain, and cries and scratches at my door wanting to come in. I let him since he's scared, but lately he's been doing the same behavior even when it isn't raining, wanting to get in my room. I think its a bad habit to keep, but my mom thinks there's nothing wrong with it. Should I allow him or should I ignore him?

  • Am I weird that I don't feel pride or nationalism in my country?

At my college the question of nationalism was brought up (I go to U.S. university), and my professor wanted me to voice my opinion on the matter. I told him I don't take a stance with one country over another. Only with what I believe is morally right and what is morally wrong. Which brought up some questions (from other students), why I still live here. Why I take all these opportunities for free. So on so forth.

I was curious does anyone else feel the same way? I can't be the only person who believes the health of mankind is more important than one's country?

  • Current top 10 NHL defensemen. Give me your list? Opinion based.?

    1. Shea Weber. Big body with a big shot. Can shot from the point on the PP and kill of penalties. Also a very physical player. Same he never won a Norris.

2.Alex Pietrangelo-I think this guy will be the best d-man in the league in a year or two. He has all the skill as a two-way player, with a big body to go along with it.

3.Zdeno Chara-The six-nine monster is a beast with his stick positioning. Making it hard for players to get around him. Struggles clearing the puck and had a terrible Stanley Cup finals, but there is no reason for him not to bounce back.

    4. Duncan Keith-The best transition player in his own end. He can move the puck up the ice in a blink of the eye. He's been a vital player in the Hawks system which relies on speed.

    5. P.K. Subban- young and gritty, Subban won the Norris this year after arriving late to the season over a contract situation. With all the tools for a great two-way player, Subbann also knows how to get under the other teams skin.

6.Ryan Suter-the once line mate of Shea Weber. I was curious how Suter would play without Weber. It started off slow, but he rocketed off mid-way in the season for Norris finalists bid.

7.Oliver Ekman-Larsson-This might be a odd pick. But this kid is great. Playing on the Coyotes doesn't help his case for national spot light, yet still puts up good offensive numbers with a lacking offensive team. The Coyotes have notice and rewarded him with a six year deal.

8.Niklas Kronwall- I love watching this guy play, even as a Hawks fan, I have to shudder when he lays a big hit on opponents. Kronwall has been overshadowed his entire career playing alongside some great Defensmen (Lidstrom), but he'll get my praise for what its worth.

9.Erik Karlsson-Norris winning Karlsson had hiss eason cut short when he took a injury by a Cooke. When he returned during the playoffs he didn't seem to be the player he was a year before. Getting dangled by Crosby for a goal. The offensive talent is there, just a defensive game is needed to be one of the greats.

    10. Kris Letang- To be honest, I was never a Letang fan. He seems best fit at a wing spot than a defense role. This was clearly the case when he was destroyed by Boston in the playoffs with bad board play and clears. But for all his mishaps in the D-zone, he is one of the best if not the best in the offence zone. Able to quarterback the Pens powerplay for the best in the NHL.

  • Thoughts on hawks and kings game 1?

The hawks played a game that didn't allow the kings to forecheck like they wanted to. Quick saved them, and I'm looking for a better performance from the kings next game.

  • hypothetical Stanley Cup finals match.?

    between the Hawks and Pens?

I believe these two teams, if they meet would bring the best possible match-up between East and West.

Both teams have boat load of star talent and great debt. While rolling 4 lines, I would give a slight edge to the Pens.

On defense, the pens have been playing better of late, but the hawks have been great all season and have two of the best d in the game with Seabrook and Keith. With 3 lines, I gave the edge to the hawks.

Goalie, both teams and fans might question what they have. On one end you have Crawford. Not having a great season last year, he really turned it up with a great year. (it doesn't hurt to have great dmen) marc andre fleury, has a lot riding on his shoulders. After the horrible playoffs last year, he needs to prove himself in the playoffs to be consider a top end goalie. the only top goalie stat Fleury is in is in wins. 19th in Sv% and 17th in GAA.

What are your thoughts if this does happen?

  • Question about GDP for economic experts.?

    1. Do countries with higher population usually end up having higher GDP. More people equals more workers?

    2. Do developing countries have a higher GDP, because they still have to developed their own countries. Example China compared to the U.S. which is already a developed country?

    3. Does GDP really matter?

  • Why do people have problems with outsourcing?

Outsourcing is usually done by big Business that can afford to move overseas. But, they make up a SMALLER sector compared to small American own Business. I know American jobs are being lost, but its not all bad. We do get cheap goods from outsourcing.

I would like to hear your opinions. If I'm wrong please tell me.
