I recently acquired a 350 and want to build it with a little more power to go in something else. My question is there are so many kits available and I want to assemble it myself. What is the machine shop process for doing this because I don't have much experience with dealing with them. I know how to measure everything so is it just a matter of ordering the right size bearings, rods, pistons ect... Does the machine shop give you a spec sheet with everything they have done to your block? I know I could just have them do it for me but that takes all the fun out of it!!!

Ok I have a dell dimension xps gen 2 desktop and the raid 1 mirror said degraded when i booted the computer up. I replaced the CMOS battery inside of it and tried to re-create the raid mirror through BIOS ans wiped the drive. Now The computer will not recognize the second hard drive. Says missing

I reinstalled XP with SP3 and am only running off of one drive. I cannot find the other hard drive in my device manager. I cannot find the Intel raid controller in the device manager. I booted from the driver cd and created a raid disk. I then booted the OS cd and pressed f6 to create and it said that windows had a newer driver than the one on my floppy disc. I then tried to use the driver on my disc and i got a blue screen with fault codes

So how do I get this back to normal. The computer came with 2 250gb drives in a raid 1 config with Intel 82801er sata raid controller.

I know there are a lot of varibles in this idea but:

A simple car chassis with a generator on each wheel will not produce enough energy to power an electric motor to run it because????

What is the law behind this? Even simpler an electric motor turning a generator cannot produce enough energy to keep the battery charged because? If the answer is friction could you please explain? I have had a heated debate with my father in law about this and I think it will not work.

So my girlfriend has been texting this guy she works with for a while now. We live together and a few months back I found out about this guy because they were texting. It was all innocent or so I thought until her alarm went off the other morning and I saw her messages when I turned the alarm off. They were having a nice little conversation about swallowing and how she would totally come over to his house. I confronted her about it after knowing about it for a day (her dad is in the hospital and I didn't want to put more stress on her) and she apologized. She said nothing happened and she didn't know what she was thinking. I feel extremely betrayed by this and I am finding it hard to forgive. I have my stuff packed and am ready to leave. I figure a few days will tell me more about how I really feel. Am I doing the right thing?

What if you could have a conversation with your dog but it was only for 10 minutes. It didn't matter what mentality the dog had, what would you say?

I have a chihuahua and I have never been one for small dogs. I like dogs to be bigger and more aggressive like, dominance being the key. But this dog has more attitude and personality than any other dog I have been with. What I have noticed in my life with dogs is that as humans, we teach them to respect us and to follow our orders. In return, we feed them and shelter them. I don't know if the dogs understand what we do for them but I sometimes wonder how they feel towards us. I have read several things about the mentality of dogs and how they are pack animals and consider us one within their pack but do they understand that we as humans consider them one within our family? Maybe it is a primal thing within humans to be with a pack and we consider dogs part of that. I just don't understand how two different species can communicate the way dogs and humans do. They say that dogs are man's best friend and I wish they could see or maybe understand how throughout history that friendship has contributed to our own survival. History is abundant with carvings and paintings of dogs with their masters.

As crazy as it sounds, if Darwin's theory of evolution is true than I imagine one day dogs will be able to communicate within their own kind on a vocal level and have rational thought. One day millions of years from now if humans still inhabit the earth we might be able to translate their speech and have conversations with them. But if they continue to be domesticated than they would end up speaking our language instead of their own. But however it turns out it would be nice to be able to tell them their true history on this earth and how much humans have adored them.

Just some crazy thought as I am sitting here watching my dog sleep. He loves to wrestle with me. We had a good 15 minute play time before he passed out. Sometimes he annoys me because he wants to play and sometimes I annoy him when I want to play. But tonight I tired him out.

I want to install some led lights behind my gauges in my car to change the color. Regular incandescent bulbs do not offer the color I want. I want to purchase some leds and resistors from radio shack and do it custom because I will have better control over where the lighting goes. I am a little rusty on Ohm's law and need some help.

I have read on some forums that they used 20000 mcd led bulbs and said they used a 1/4 watt resistor. I need the ohm rating. If it is a 12 volt system in my car, what resistor should I use. The system goes up to a little over 14 volts when the car is running.

The instrument cluster has a 7.5 amp fuse in it for the lighting. I have not tested actual amps with the incandescent bulbs in it. I have leds in there now, and I have not tested amps. The resistors are built in to the leds I have now, so I cannot separate the two and test them separately.

I know mcd and Mcd refer to the brightness of the bulb. I just need to know is there any other rating for leds to figure out what resistor to use?

I had a dream last night about in a town I used to live in. I was driving a woman to this place. I can't remember where it was. I also did not know the woman but I loved her. We were saying goodbye to each other because distance was separating us. I was very sad and I woke up feeling sad because of this. Any ideas what it means?

I have a 401k from my previous employer valued at 10k. I plan to use part of that money for a down payment on a house. That will not be until next year sometime mid way. Would it be smart to leave it in the 401k or roll over to an IRA which I have a more open choice of investments? Are the penalties different from the two?

Ok, I have been a mechanic for about 7 years, I am certified and have been to technical school. I have a very good resume of skills and training. My last job was as a collision mechanic at a body shop. I got a DUI and was let go because of the suspended drivers license issue. So my question is will this make me uninsurable to companies when I apply for a job? My driving record is clean other than that. Thing is in florida, it stays on your driving record for 75 years. So there is no chance I will ever get rid of it.

Just wanting to make sure, you still do not need to register a firearm in Florida, correct? It has been a while since I have found out. I have looked up Florida statutes and cannot find any information about registration laws. Also, if I choose to sell my weapons, is it legal to do that without having the new owner register? Am I allowed to sell guns? I just can't find anything out about this. Called the sheriff's office and can't get ahold of anyone either. Any help would be appreciated!

I am a mechanic and I am thinking about starting my own repair shop. I'm tired of working for somebody else. I have good credit and some liquid capital saved. I was wondering what the cost of insurance would be for this venture. What types do I need? I know I will need it for accidents to customer's vehicles as well as some kind of liability for injury. Does anyone out there own their own shop? Anyone work in insurance? I don't want to start searching for quotes yet because I don't want to deal with the phone calls from salespeople yet.

Just a wild thought but is it legal in Florida to pull a firearm on somebody and shoot them on your own property if they attack you or a family member and they are unarmed?

I have known this woman now for about 3 years. We have went out before a few times and I still see her at parties through a mutual friend. I told her a while back that I liked her and she told me that she didn't feel that way about me. That happened about 2 years ago. But when we see each other, we always end up together in really deep conversations and having a good time together. I still want to pursue her even though my friends laugh at me for it. Generally I don't have a problem getting rejected. I don't like it but who does? It's just different with her. What should I do?

I was unemployed for a month. I just got a new job. I have some money saved up for a down payment (10k). I have a 780 credit score. No debt. How long do I need to be working before a bank considers lending money to me? And do I need more money for a down payment?
