I uninstalled alcohol 120% because I found out it won't work with vista or atleast the version I had didn't and alcohol 120% before I got it uninstalled blue screen/crashed my PC about 25times before I could remove it. However, my PC is still sluggish even tho everything to do with alcohol is gone, and AVG isn't picking up any viruses. The main thing here is, I play the sims 3, and have been playing it fine with no lag for a year until now. My entire machine feels sluggish my games are in full lag mode. Its so frustrating makes me at times wanna bang the mouse! lol I don't have a clue on how to fix it... My machine was completely normal up until about 2 days ago, now its a steaming pile of pew pew because of the sluggish speed. I click on something, such as the sims launcher, google chrome or whatever and it has a long delay before anything pops up. I downloaded new Nvidia drivers for my 8600GT, and I have my windows updated with whatever Microsoft pops up telling me to download.

What could be the cause of this?
