  • What happened to the "surge"?

    The surge was supposed to be temporary, but now Bush is going to tell us what a great guy he is for bringing 30k troops home by next summer. How big was the surge? 20-30k! Funny thing is, unless we extend deployments again and cut back on the time between deployments, we HAVE to bring those 30k home by next summer anyway, and there are no more soldiers to replace them.
