  • Wiring DVC subs?

Ok, I was wondering if I would be able to wire a dual 4 ohm sub and a dual 2 ohm sub together to present either a three ohm or a six ohm load to the amp. I would like to present a six ohm load, because of the amp being 4 ohm stable bridged. The amp I am using is turned way down for the dual 4 ohm sub, I am running it in 8 ohm configuration now (Kicker s10L5 D4) Is this possible? I am running two amps now to two subs, just curious.

  • subwoofers "thumping" with no volume?

Ok, I am running 2 Hifonics amps. One is a Zeus z600 and one is a Titan. I am running the Titan which is running 400 watts RMS@ 4 ohms bridged to a Hifonics BX10D2 sub. The Z600 I am running bridged to a Kicker L5 10". The HU is a pioneer with two sets of RCA's on the back. I have stinger RCA's running from the HU to a splitter at each amp(that is how hifonics suggested it in the manual) as long as just the Zeus amp is running, no "thumping" but as soon as I plug the RCA's to the Titan, both subs start "thumping at 0 volume. Any help would be appreciated.

Ok, I have a Kicker L5 10 in my truck now and it sounds good, but I listened to a friend's system the other day And he had a single Hifonics Brutus square 10" that hit much harder with the same amp I run (Hifonics) and the same size/shape box.

  • Fuses blowing?

I upgraded the "big three" in my truck, the alternator to fuse box, the ground cable and battery to fuse box. The power to my amps is much better now, and I don't have a problem with the lights dimming or any of that, but my dash lights and running lights keep going out due to the fuses blowing. I realize this is probably due to the higher current flow from replacing the 8 ga cables with 2 ga. Is this a problem anyone else has had, any suggestions?

  • Okay, I know this is probably apples to oranges,...but?

Can someone give me a comparison of a 12" Kicker CVR DVC 2 ohm to a Kicker L5 solobaric 10" DVC 2 ohm.

I just ordered the L5 to gain a little more leg room as it takes a little less air space than the CVR. I had two CVR's until the voice coils died in one of them. I am thinking about running just the one L5 with 400watts RMS running bridged mono to 4 ohm load.

P.s. the CVR's were in a sealed box, and I am going to run the L5 sealed as well.

  • Kicker CVR rebuild?

I have seen some recone kits online for certain subs, but cannot find anything for the Kickers except for the solox subs. Does anyone know if they are available, or even worth repairing?

  • OK archery guys(and gals) String loop......?

OK, I have been bowhunting most of my life, and this year I started using a loop on my new bow. I was shooting a tournament this weekend and had a couple of guys that were saying a loop was the wrong way to go, but a couple of guys in the pro class were using them. comments? theories?

Simple physics tells me that placing the release directly behind the nock should be more accurate.

  • I have bowhunted most of my life, and consider myself...?

competent in making clean ethical kills. My cousin has asked me to shoot a 3-D tournament with him and I was curious as to the yardage we will be shooting. I am entered into bowhunter class.(shoot what I hunt with) I never take a bow shot beyond 35 yards when hunting. I feel a little ill equipped to shoot long distances.

  • How much affect does lapping the bolt lugs on a......?

Remington 700(or any bolt action) affect accuracy? I have done a lot of accurizing on my hunting rifle. (Trigger, pillar bedded, recrowned, oversized and glassed in recoil lug ) I am obsessed with making my hunting rifle as accurate as possible. My goal is to make any error strictly my fault. Anyone have any more accuracy improving ideas? I also reload my own hunting ammo to benchrest standards.

  • I just bought my dream gun!?

Okay, after a long time of careful budgeting and saving when I could, I just bought a new AR-15 A3 flat top carbine with desert tan furniture and a Jard competition trigger installed, SWEET! Anyway, to my question, I have been reloading for about 20 years and have never had the need for a whole lot of brass. I am wondering if anyone has some good info on where to find cheap surplus brass (once fired). I checked with the gun range, and they have someone that comes in and buys all of their brass already, so my next guess is online. Next question, I know most military brass has a crimped primer, how hard is it to deprime and ream the primer pockets? And, is it worth the trouble or should I stick with commercial brass? (I know some comercial brass is crimped as well)

  • Air space question?

Ok, I have two Kicker CVR 12" subs in a sealed box with 2.85 cubic feet per chamber, minus the volume taken by the sub . I have polyfil in each chamber as well. My question is this, and it seems silly to ask, but I just never thought about it, so here goes, does just running one voice coil on a dual voice coil sub change the airspace requirements??

(these subs were bought as "display items" on line, and when I got them in, they had one set of voice coil leads snipped off the voice coil that's left sounds great.) *guess I shouldn't bid while intoxicated and not read well*LOL

  • tuning my system~~Hz tuned by gain?

Ok, I have bought some good components for my new system and have read a lot about tuning the Hz output with a test meter set to AC volts. I am running two Kicker CVR 12" subs in a sealed box with A Hifonics amp(please, no comments on what I Should have bought, etc.) I would like to get some suggestions on the frequency I should tune it with, and the volt readings to go with for that frequency. I also would like a link to a downloadable .wav or mp3 for the test frequency. I have a 60Hz file already on CD, but was wondering if I should go lower.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!, Thanks

  • AK-47 reloading question?

I have been reloading for years, but I just started reloading for my AK. Does anyone else have a problem with brass cased ammo feeding? The wolf Military classic 123grn runs through it like a sewing machine, but when I reloaded some winchester power points with brand new brass cases, It hangs every time. This rifle is a Romanian AK that I built and dolled out from a parts kit. Any ideas or plinker load recipies ?

  • Kicker CVR 12's single voice coil 2 ohm?

I just ordered 2 Kicker Comp CVR 12's from Canada and they are Single voice coil 2 Ohm. Everyone says that all of the Kicker CVR's are dual Voice coil. Even the Kicker site doesn't show anything about them. They sound great, but I just thought it was weird. Any one else have any info on these?

  • Amplifier Repair?

I have a Sony XM-2252HX Amp that keeps blowing the right hand side fuse a few seconds after I turn the radio on. I also have a small amp for mids and highs that one channel doesn't work. Does anyone have an idea where and if it's feasible to repair them?
