  • How can I tell what type of carpet is in the basement of the house I bought?

    Basement carpet got ruined during the recent storms in the midwest. I know the insurance adjuster will determine what it is and what it's worth, but I'd like to figure that out independently to ensure it's a fair value.

    I have a piece of the carpet that had a label on the back of it, with a Griege number (dye lot?) and some other numbers, though no brand name. Can I figure out what it is from that?

    (It's a type of Berber, but I have no idea what material, etc.)
