Have anyone else heard of this? And is this true for everyone?

Since I was young, my mom (who is from Japan) told me something I consider some what of an old wives's tale. She passed away a few years ago so I'm unable to ask. Here it is:

If your big toe is shorter than your second toe, you will be taller than both your parents. However, if your second toe is shorter, you will be shorter than at least one parent.

My second toe is longer and I am taller than both my parents. It fall true for some friends but many of them are half Asian like me. I'm really curious if this is true for others...
