  • How do you graph y = -x?

    And these, please?

    1) y = -x

    2) x = -y

    3) y = -x^2

  • How to find the number of real solutions? Algebra 2?

There are 2 problems, but they're both the same thing. I know the answers (it's a study guide and the answers are in the back) but I have no idea how to find them and my mid-term is tomorrow! The problems are:

What is the number of real solutions.

    -4x^2 + 6x = -1

    and

    -12^2 = 5x+6

I know the answer to the first one is 2 and the answer to the second one is 1. It's not asking for what the solutions are... just how many are there? Thanks!

  • Spanish grammar question?

    I'm trying to say:

There is a lot of homework in math class. There is also a lot of homework in history class.

I know the first sentence is: En la clase de matematicas hay mucha tarea.

But, does the word 'tambien' go in the beginning or the end of the second sentence?

    for example, is it

    1) Hay mucha tarea en la clase de historia tambien.

    2) Tambien hay mucha tarea en la clase de historia.

Also, if anything else is incorrect, let me know! :D And I know the accents aren't there. I don't know how to type them, haha! :S

  • Help me find the metaphor in this paragraph! I think I have it, but I'm not sure...?

Please help! Help me find the metaphor and explain it if you can...

    The paragraph is:

And then, a year ago, I bought my first home. On moving day I stood at the top of the stairs to direct the flow of boxes and furniture, most of which I'd acquired during 20 years of apartment living but much of which I'd inherited from my parents, who had both died during the past few years. By 4 p.m. I was toasting the view of San Francisco Bay with a glass of wine and fatasizing about which object would go where. I imagined unpacking and arranging as the most intentional and pleasing of tasks, in which I would lovingly place each treasure in the right spot. Finally, after two decades of rentals, I had a place that was all mine, to do with as I pleased.

Sorry it's kinda long.. I think the metaphor would be "I was toasting the view of San Francisco Bay..." But, I'm really not sure... PLEASE HELP, ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED! :)

  • Is it necessary to read the 'and a half' books in the Princess Diaries series? (Meg Cabot)?

The books like "Four and a Half: Project Princess" and the "...and three quarters" books? Would the storyline make sense if I didn't read these books? Thanks!

  • What books do you think I would like?

Books that I have read and loved are...

--Harry Potter series - JK Rowling (*)

--Twilight saga - Stephenie Meyer (not as much as other books I'm mentioning... it was OK)

--House of Night series - PC Cast and Kristin Cast (*)

--any book by VC Andrews (I haven't read them all, but all of them that I've read, I absolutely loved!) (*)

--The Clique series - Lisi Harrison

--Pretty Little Liars series - Sara Shepard (*)

--The Lying Game series - Sara Shepard

    *=absolutely LOVED!

There are definitely more that I haven't mentioned here, but, you can kind of tell the type of books that I like. I like fantasy, mystery, weird books (weird comes from VC Andrews haha!), that also have a bit of romance along the storyline.

I have nothing against books that aren't in a series, but most of the time, books that have sequels are more interesting (usually, not all the time!).

So, what books do you think I'd like?

  • What's wrong with my iPod touch?

I have an iPod touch 8GB, and I have 11 pages of apps on there (165 applications). The 11th page is completely full, and if I were to download another app, it would normally make a new page. But, now, when I download a new app, the icon does not appear, and it doesn't make a new page. I now have to search for the application I just downloaded in order to use it. All of the applications I had before this work as normal. I did not run out of space on my iPod, it says that I still have 4.8GB of space left. What is wrong? Is the limit 11 pages?

  • Is there a point in getting this phone?

I recently bought the Samsung Gravity 2 with T Mobile. But, the service sucks, the battery dies out quickly, and yeah. So, I called T Mobile, and they said they would send me and my family (we have a family plan) new phones, and they suggested the Nokia 5320 Nuron.

I already have an iPod Touch 8GB, and I honestly thing that there is absolutely no point in getting this phone. It is a touch screen phone, and according to the pictures at the bottom, it looks like the type of phone to hold apps and music and everything. They seem to me the exact same thing, but the Nuron looks like a cheap copy of the iPhone. Am I right? Do you agree? This to me, seems as rediculous as getting both an iPod touch and an iPhone.

Do you have the Nokia 5320 Nuron? Does it hold apps like an iPod touch/iPhone? Do you think there is a point in getting this phone (my family disagrees with me), when I already have the iPod touch?

Pictures of the Nokia 5320 Nuron:
