  • Justice for Madoff- Rather than jail how about waterboarding?

I mean to think that there is billions just floating around out there and he refused to name anyone that helped him with this crime (ie his entire family- since most worked for his company). I just wanted to see what everyone else thought about this? Is this comparable to 9/11? Heinous crime= heinous punishment--- i want names!!! 150 years in prison ok-- low security-- will be able to see his kids, watch tv, heck he'll probably end up teaching english for ged's or running the mail room for 1.50$ a day.. Tell me what you think and why

  • Graduating with Accounting degree--which route leads to greater opportunities?

Hi all, I will soon graduate with a BS in accounting from a well known school. I really like the challenge of tax work but am kind of considering going the auditing route simply for the long term job opportunities. Yes, I will absolutely have my cpa within 18 months or so. I am fairly confident I can join up with PCW or RSM in tax but tell me what you think. I'm thinking of the possibilities 4-6 years down the road. Which option puts me in a better position.

  • So tell me if this is wise= Telling boss to give me raise or going back to get bs in acct?

:) Well it is not as though I do not have a good paying job already @ about 44k. Just graduated in 2006 with BS in Economics but do not feel as though my work exp is good enough to get into tier 1/2 schools for MBA. To finish my BS in accounting it would take me 2 full-time and 1 part-time (maybe summer courses). Which would enable me to sit for CPA (need about 400 additional hours -which i would make up for during the time in school. In terms of finances, bills are payed off expect for a remaining school (5.5k) and cell phone.-- With the acct degree, I can expect to earn 55k base +10k increases annually if not more.

  • What would look better for B-school admission?

graduated in may 06 and have been in operations (finance) since--I have absolutely no leadership opportunities at my current company. I'm debating going into the army. I could go in as an officer and be grouped randomly into a branch and get immediate leadership experience (anywhere from 10-200 enlisted soldiers) or I could go in for intelligence and get 3 practical yrs exp and pick up a TS clearance, and possible a foreign language.

I took a practice gmat and scored 670 with about a day of studying. Long term I want to be a consultant at a top firm. Which of these options do you feel would look better for the applications process?

Oh, I am looking to apply to Farqua, Columbia, Darden, Smith

*I will try to get the Gmat 700+ in the next year or so....

    * All the men in my family have served in the Army (Grandfather)/Airforce(Father)..

  • What do you think my asvab score would be? I'm looking to get into a field either as an officer or enlisted..

that would give me technical experience, and something that has a Civilian job that I could get into after 4 or 6 yrs (assuming I don't like it and just stay). I currently have a BS in Economics and Geography ( non -technical 3.12 gpa-Yes, I know I should have gone for Engineering) and speak lvl 1 chinese-mandarin. No medical problems, or criminal record and am in good shape. (22 yrs old)--- I took a practice test online and scored a 96--- Hopefully, take the asvab soon
