Monday I answered the phone with the appropriate greeting. The customer said, "I would like to place an order." I informed him that we were closed for the evening. He persisted with saying, "It says right here on your web page that your hours on Mondays are until 9pm!" I apologized and told him the managers had decided to close at 8:00 instead, due to the Memorial holiday. I waited, expecting the customer to reply cordially and end the call. Instead he cursed at me asking,

"What are you going to do about it little a***ole?!" I had no reply and hung up the phone. Sunday, while awaiting to start work, I was introduced to our new general manager. He came over to where I was sitting and shook my hand and asked me how I liked working here. Then he asked me about that very phone call, with precise datail. Repeating in the same voice, "Did it sound like this?" Then he confessed to the prank call. Later as I walked towards the front door to leave, he came up behind me and said, "Good night little sh*t, or what was it I said on the phone, little a***ole?!" I didn't bother to turn around to defend my integrity. I just flipped him the finger over my shoulder and left.

I am thinking of having a special dinner for my bride from Belarus. What authentic dishes can I cook to make her feel at home?
