My mom and gmom want to buy me a new sewing machine for my birthday, but I have no idea what to tell them to get. (They don't want to spend more than $300, which restricts what I can get) I currently have an old Singer Featherweight. I am ready for something new, but I have read so many reviews I'm beginning to get things confused. I have looked at brother, singer, bernina, janome, etc... I just don't know what to do. I sew a lot of heavy denim and would like something that will last a long time. I don't need a ton of fancy stitches, but I would like something I could try some new/different projects on. Please help me find a good machine.
