Macbeth summary ideas?
In our exam we have to write a quick summary of "Macbeth" as an intro before we start the essay. It has to be literally a sentence long and sum up the key points of "Macbeth".
So far i have:
- "Macbeth" is a play themed around the perils of ambition and shows the rise and eventual downfall of a Scottish ruler who is driven by his darker nature.
I need about another 4 quick summaries but I've hit a complete blank.
Any ideas?
TIA
1 AnswerHomework Help6 years agoHow much shavings on top of rubber matting?
At the moment, my horse is on thick, grippy rubber mats with a proper full bucket of shavings on over the top. I remove the dirty stuff each day and keep in all the clean stuff so its always clean and fresh each day. Most days my horse is out from about 9 - 5 so he isnt dirtying it all day.
I've been told by some people that my method is bad for my horse and uncomfortable, while other people say I'm fine and using more shavings would be a waste.
Any ideas?
TIA
6 AnswersHorses6 years agoBest way to wash a horses legs in winter?
I have a show this weekend, first one of the year, and my horse is generally clean, but his legs really are quite filthy. I've tried vigorously brushing but it hasn't helped. I want to wash his legs, but it's still very cold here. How would everyone recommend I wash them?
No hot water on tap in the yard but I live about 30 seconds walk away and we have a large kettle :)

6 AnswersHorses6 years agoAny way to adjust the size of a cooler rug?
I bought my new horse a cooler in 6'3 as that was the sizing of the rug he came with. It's actually a bit long for him as I now know he's a 6' (but fits fine around the shoulders and chest). Can anyone recommend a way to shorten the length that won't make the rug uncomfy for the horse?
2 AnswersHorses6 years agoBest way to encourage mane to grow back?
My horse has had a full neck rug on over winter as we live in a particular cold part of Scotland, but its cut of oxygen to his mane follicles causing his mane to start falling out in one part of his neck. I've now removed the rug and he's got a no-neck rug on now.
He looks ridiculous and it doesnt seem to be growing back.
Any ideas on how to get it to grow back quickly, and how would you recommend thinning and shortening the rest of his mane?
1 AnswerHorses6 years agoCan you show in a synthetic saddle?
I'm looking to start showing, but I can't afford a leather saddle. I understand it's usual to show in leather but will I get marked down for using a Rhinegold Synthetic saddle? It's not a leather look saddle either so I don't know if i'm being totally stupid here! I won't be doing any large shows, just local things by the way :)
Thanks!
3 AnswersHorses6 years agoShow Legal Bits?
I have an ex-hunter that I'm looking to do showing with next year. He has been ridden in a snaffle but everyone whos ridden him has said hes too strong and he isn't coming round to schooling in a snaffle. he isnt bad, just a bit dead in the mouth from his hunting career.
What bit should i consider that are showing legal? Not overly keen to try a pelham or kimblewick, they seem much to strong for him. any other suggestions welcome :)

2 AnswersHorses7 years agoWhy do horses get gunky eyes?
My new horse gets bad gunky eyes that gets all crusty. It's not sore for him and i'm wiping them down with clean water every day. Not sure how long he's been getting it as we only bought him a week ago, but we got him thoroughly vetted and there was no sign of any allergys or illness... just wondering why hes getting it and how to stop it?
thanks :)

6 AnswersHorses7 years agoScared to go to a gymnastics class!?
My mum has agreed to help me find a gymnastics class to go to but theres one problem. I'm terrified. Not of the tricks etc (i could eventually manage those) but of teasing. I'm 14 and 5ft 8, and gymnastics never occured to me but now i think it could be something I could really enjoy. I'm just terrified that the classes are going to be full of younger, smaller children who are going to be so much more elegant than me and will tease me for my age and size. Am I being stupid for having these fears, and ways to overcome them please :)
Thanks!

5 AnswersHorses7 years agoThings to make and sell online?
Hey
I'm a 14 year old girl and I live in the middle of nowhere.I desperately need to earn some money to help pay for tack and food for my horse but because I live so far away from any towns, I can't get a job! I was wondering what sort of things (like paintings) people would be willing to buy from sites like Etsy, and how much you'd be willing to pay? I've been experimenting with water-colour paintings of horses but I cant afford proper canvases to paint on so I can only paint on good quality paper. Sorryy to turn this into 2 questions but would I have to make prints of these paintings or could I paint a couple of each paintings that may be slightly different each time, then frame them?
The more detail the better :)
Thankyou!
1 AnswerSmall Business7 years agoHow to stop a horse swerving the other way at a corner?
Hey
Last October, I bought an ex-racing standardbred off a lovely woman at my stables who only used him as a happy hacker. Now we've had him over 6 months, we've realized the potential he has. He loves to jump, canters amazingly out on hacks and his trot could put some dressage horses to shame! The only bad thing is that he's developed a habit of pulling out and quickly turning the other way at one particular corner in the school in his canter on one rein. Because of his racing past, he can be quite strong and dead in the mouth when he gets an idea in his head and he can be seriously fast. We think he just gets overly hyper and needs bringing down and we've tried explaining that he needs calming down to my instructor but she doesnt understand and after a particularly vigorous canter and swerving episode, she makes us do it again, which makes him more hyper! It got to the extent last week that he was so hyper and fast when he swerved, that i came off and went straight through the fence and breaking it!
He only does this on one rein and i just want to be able to settle him down and get him working properly because I can see how much potential he has. Any ideas on how to stop this habit because its getting a bit dangerous now!
Thanks!
1 AnswerHorses7 years agoHow to get white socks white... and keep them white?!?
Heyy!
I have a small show on Saturday and my bay keeps getting his lovely little white socks stained with muck, urine, grass etc the afternoon after I wash them! I've heard people saying they use stretchy socks over the top of the horses legs when travelling and the night before, and using baby powder on the legs to give a white finish just before the show but I was hoping you could give me some more tips?
thanks!
4 AnswersHorses7 years agoHow to plait a horses long mane?
Heya
I have a show coming up this saturday and I need to plait my horses mane. I've never plaited a mane before and every time I've tried to do it as practice, it came out loose and totally wrong! I've been watching videos on Youtube about how to do it, and I noticed all the horses had short, pulled manes. I then went out to have another go and saw my horse has a lovely, long, flowing mane. I do not want to pull or cut his mane as it looks amazing when im in my lessons!
Ok, so my question is, how do I plait a long mane? I don't want to do a spanish braid or a running braid, I just want to do that standard plaiting where its in the little balls up the neck. Any links, vids or pictures appreciated! :D
Thanks x
4 AnswersHorses7 years agoMost embarrassing show moments?
Heyy
I'm going to my first show on Saturday and I'm pretty sure it's my horses first show too and I'm kinda nervous that somethings going to go wrong... can you tell me your most embarrassing showing moments to make me feel better? :) My mum says that everyone makes mistakes at shows but everytime I go to watch, every one seems to do everything so perfectly! I just want proof that bad things have happened to everyone but now you can laugh about them!
Thanks!
7 AnswersHorses7 years agoWill people laugh at a trotter at a show?
Hi
All my life I've wanted to go to shows and compete, but I only got my first horse this time last year. Long story short, everything went wrong with him and I now have a new horse that I bought in October. I would love to show him but he's an ex-racing trotter and still hasnt got the complete grip of canter work yet but he loves to jump and he will usually canter between jumps perfectly after trotting up to them. Neither of us have ever been to a show before but it would be great experience for both us us. My question is, if i take him to a small show and trot round a little course of jumps, will people judge us and make fun of us? I know horsey people can be either extremely bitchy or extremely nice... i get embarrassed very easy and my horse can get a bit hyper if his levels of excitement aren't controlled. I just dont want to get embarrassed, make a total fool of ourselves and walk away from it upset and feeling like I don't want to ever go back to a show!
thanks!
5 AnswersHorses7 years agoCorrect showing attire for Scotland/UK?
Hi!
I'm thinking of taking my horse to our first show this spring but I have never entered a show before.
I was just wondering what is the correct attire for me and tack for my horse? Anything I should avoid wearing etc?
Thanks! :)
5 AnswersHorses7 years agoIs it OK to take a horse to a show, just to get him used to it?
I recently heard of a small show nearby coming up.. I've never been to a show, and I dont think my horse has either. He's being reschooled at the moment due to being an ex-road-racer in Ireland. His trot is almost perfect, but his canters a bit all over the place and we've only done smallish jumps.
All the bigger shows here are in summer, when he'll be much better so I was thinking of taking him to this small show just to get him used to atmosphere and maybe enter in a little jump course and trot him round it.
Do you think it would be OK to do this? Im only asking because I feel people would laugh at us or judge us! Any other constructive comments welcome
Thanks! :)
