  • Scratch on rabbits eye, discharge for several days? Also do rabbit eyelashes grow back?

Chestnut is the crazy neatherland dwarf rabbit so upon the successful escape from his cage he scratched his eye. He is up to being his normal self and shows no pain , only discomfort when we are touching his face. The actual eye looks fine. And he has a nice patch of fur missing between his eyes but no blood or open wounds. Although he has been having discharge for 3 days. we've been cleaning it and using a damp towel on the eye. How long should I allow this to continue before it becomes a bigger problem? Can the tear duct in the eye be damaged? Anything else I should be doing?

Ps this is my little sis's rabbit (although I've had rabbits for years) I showed her how to clean the eye and how often (she's nearly 16) and she didn't because of the build up I had to clip the clumped fur away from his eye some or the eyelash may need to be clipped. Will that hurt and will it grow back?

  • Guppy fry not growing properly?

I'm having trouble with my guppy fry growth. There 4 months 3out of 30 are 2cm witch I'm thinking is some what normal, The other 27 are half that, about 1cm and some are even under that.. The size difference is so great I had to separate those larger 3. But they are swimming normally and seen to eat but not a lot. Also other than black markings none have any colors is this normal?

I've been feeding them mashed tadpole food, fish flakes and ground dried brine shrimp rotated with 3 feedings a day. I clean the tank once a week and they have a blue light plus there by a window.. I'm concerned so I started giving spinach(I saw online) and today I bought fry food.. What else can I do?

    Additional Details

In there own tank 5gal heated to 75deg.. Nothing on the bottom but fake fixtures no rocks

  • Parents:would you want a daycare to tell you if they knew your child was significantly developmentally behind?

as a daycare worker trainered in child development for 2yrs, I've heard both sides.. Its in the child's best interest tell them, and the parent will feel your being judgmental you'll loss there service (witch would get me fired)

But now its happened the child to me and my coworkers obviously has something holding her back, the parents are clueless. Of course we spend nearly 8hrs a day with her and nothings improved in 6months! the child's not stupid (I don't want the parents to think im saying that), when it comes to figuring things out she's the smartest child in the room but she's only developed about half of her age, in almost every other developmental area. I have a bond with her and im almost positive what she has but I am not a doctor. but she should go see one. but knowing early detection is best and I want what's best should I tell her parents?

    Parents what would you want?

  • What do i need to do to care for a tadpole? new class pet arriving soon!?

I am a preschool teacher at a daycare and I've ordered a "frog growing kit" it comes with a leopard frog tadpole, container, food and water conditioner. I also bought a fake log for him to climb out of the water when he's big enough. I have several questions.

1)do I need a water heater or heat lamp?

    2) will gravel be ok at the bottom of the tank?

    3) when do i stop giving it tadpole food and give it adult food?

4)what to feed it as an adult other than live bugs?

    5) will it be ok for 2 days on the weekends when we are closed? what food should i leave him with?

    6) once grown will it make a lot of noise?

Tips or anything else i need to know

  • Cleavland or Toledo Zoo? which is better?

We're just moved to this area so none of us have been to either one. were bringing an 18month old and she likes aquatic animal especially loves turtles (she can even say the difficult word perfectly)

So they need to have turtles to look at! I've been to both web sites and know the prices and events but I want personal opinions.

    A few questions too.

    What were any unique attractions?

    What didn't u like?

    was it easy to navigate?

we there activities for young children?

were you able to closely and safely see the animals?

    best places to eat?

    if you've been to both..

    which is bigger?

    which had better attractions?

which did you like best would you recommend?

  • What natural foods can i give my rabbit to help with diarrhea?

My Rabbit Ellie (3yr) often has Diarrhea its been an on and off thing for almost 3 years but is getting worse. it becomes to the point where it clumps to her fur and i have to cut it out. luckily she is patient with the process but its awful. her diet is the same as our other 2 Netherland dwarf rabbits both the size as her one is 2yrs her son, and the other 5yrs. they all get feed exactly the same thing they get pellets and every couple days some kind of fruit or veggie scraps (bottoms of romain lettuce, broccoli stems, a 3rd or an apple, strawberry tops etc.) or full carrots with tops. the others have never had a problem so assume she just digest things directly so i stopped giving her the extras shes just on pellets. it helped a little but what else can i give her to help?

  • Can my Turtle bite off chunks of his "foam" floating land?

I have a yellow eared slider hes 3years and 4 in long. Ive had the same land float since i brought him home (zoo meck floating land) Well.. he'll try to eat anything he can get his mouth on and recently hes decided the floating land is a new snack. he hasn't bit off any pieces yet. but is it possible or did the people at zoo meck already think this through? id really like to know before he eats a chunk.

i do feed him plenty actually maybe over feed. he currently has feeder fish but he still needs to check every other item to make sure its not edible too.

  • Really cute Spring crafts for preschool? something different?

I work at a daycare. My boss finally (after a year) is letting me "decorate" the the walls by picking whatever spring artwork to display. i have to come up with 3 crafts one for each wall, have each kid make one of each craft (14kids) and put 14 alike crafts on each wall. Soo Im kinda short on ideas, i have lots of spring crafts all the common ones and a few not so common just none "wall worthy" it has to be something that will be able to hang on the wall flat, and no bigger than a regular sheet of paper and appropriate all Spring. were not aloud to use glitter.

last year we did (throughout the center) Coffee filter butterflies, paper plate frogs, hand flowers streamer/paper plate rainbows, bird with a feather.

    ideas..
