I'm 13 years old and going into 9th grade..this is my first time trying to write a SAT essay. I got the practice test from this website: https://satonlinecourse.collegeboard.com/SR/digita...
_______________
Here is my essay, and tell me what you think:
Privacy is something everyone knows about. Not everything has to be confidential but you must decide for yourself if you want share something or not. Privacy is necessary but you shouldn't keep everything from the world. Most of the time, it depends on the situation. Personally, I think privacy has a good side as well as a good side.
People can use radios, television, or newspapers to tell the rest of the world about something important happening. For example, if a serious flu virus was going around, and someone knew about it, the right thing to do would be to tell everyone. If they didn't, many people would be dying and they wouldn't know what was going on or how to stop it. By not being too secretive and sharing knowledge with the world, more people would be more informed of current events or urgent news.
But as stated before, choosing to keep something private or not depends on the situation. If someone knew about someone else's dirty laundry and they told everyone else, the other person would be disgraced by the public eye. This happens a lot in pop culture between the media and a celebrity. If the person who knew the secret kept it a secret, the other person would be safe, and the issue would soon be forgotten. It depends on the choice that person makes. Neither frankness nor secretiveness is a bad thing, but the main point is that one should look at the consequences before making the decision to keep something private.
