  • Mobile repeaters and linking?

I have a work radio, a Motorola Ht1250-LS+ UHF handheld radio. I get really bad reception in places i work and would like to put a mobile UHF radio repeater in my car to extend this range.

Will i need a mobile UHF radio for my car and then have to get a repeater and link them together to accomplish this?

Will i be able to buy a repeater alone which will catch my handhelds signals and transmit them at the higher output?

If i get another radio (ie:Mobile) how can i program it to my companies channels? (Dont tell me to take it to the companys person who does radios, i obviously know that can be done assume i am doing them myself) i know that there are RF counters which can be purchased but is it as simple as being within range with an RF counter and typing the frequency number into the radio you intend to use?

  • Interested in making a portable battery power source. Batt. Suggestions anyone?

Ok so ive been interested in making a portable battery power pack for a while now but am not interested in spending upwards of $400.00 for the Xantrex Powerpack 1500 ( Though it is cool). So i was thinking of getting something like several car batterys which i could connect Parallely to get the runtime i want on a 12v system, and adding a power inverter to run directly from that current. Its my understanding however that some batteries produce toxic fumes, and thats not something i want in the interior of my car espcially if im using it, so i got a basic plan but an interested in any battery suggestions form you guys that will be safe and effective without breaking the bank. Help me out.

  • Complete Remote Operated Telescope System, What Scope am i looking for?

I would like to mount a small telescope on the roof of my house encased in a plexiglass or other clear dome and make it so it is completely remote operated, including capable of taking pictures. Ok so ive found that i will need to get a pc connection kit and CCTV camera kit that work with a telescope thats easy, what i am looking to find out though is what telescope would be the best size wise (as small as possible with reasonable power), and full remote operation. I found the ETX-60, ETX-70 made by Meade which seem to e what im looking for however i am unsure if the ETX-60 will have a remote operated focus and be 100 percent remote. I see that it will be able to move vertical and horozontal which is great but i need to be sure it will remotely focus too. Please help

  • What is a good but small SCBA System?

I am pretty much the only emergency responder on one of my sites. I am looking for a small portable SCBA system that i can use in fire/ chemcical situations. Ive found many escape hoods but those are expensive and not what im looking for. Bottle duration is not too much of a concern just portablility.

  • What anticoagulant works best?

I keep hearing that Quick Clots ACS+ formula is the coolest and best. But they also make a gauze that seems to be good. Has anyone used this in the field, if yes what works best.

  • Why have CPR Compressions gone up without Respirations?

This is a question ive had for several years now. It dosn't make sense to me per AHA that we should now do 30 compressions to 2 breaths. What good is circulating blood in the body that is not oxygenated, we are just circulating more CO2 and since there are no respirations or gas exchange we are just making the patients have extremely high levels of CO2. The old Standard of 15 compressions to 2 breaths made much more sense as did 5 compressions to 1 breath.
