Dispute over security deposit - please advise?
We rented a place over the summer and my son accidently pulled a lamp off of a wobbly table. The owners are saying that it will cost 600 to 2000 to fix the lamp which seems outrageous to me. My question is:
1) am I responsible for full cost of repair - even something that has the sentimental value?
2) what rights or assurances do I have that cost is correct? I found her another lamp online for 140 Brand New - but apparently it wasn't the "exact" same.
3 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoShould I sell 401K assets or after tax assets?
I am nearing retirement and want to shift to more stable income generating investments. Should I sell 401k related assets to put into bond fund or non-retirement account to go into lower risk investments? I guess the question centers around the tax implications of selling stock in 401K (and not paying taxes) versus selling stock in taxable account and paying cap gains.
