Which is better: an online program or a community college program in medical billing and coding?
I amnplanning on going to school for medical billing and coding. My local community college pffers a degree program but I also found an online program (Penn Foster) that offers the program. Penn Foster is more affordable and would also worl better with my hours but I don't want to go through school to find it harder to get a job than if would be if I had went to community college. Penn Foster is Middle States Accredited as well as DEAC and IACET accredited.

2 AnswersHigher Education (University +)5 years agoWhat is the best way to go about going back to school and starting in a new career while pregnant?
I am in my early twenties, and my fiance and we recently found out we are expecting. We are excited but this is definitely unplanned. I currently work in retail but am enrolled to go back to school in January. The course I am taking is a one semester course that will earn me a certification in the medical field allowing me to make almost double what I am making now. My fiance has a stable career and money isn t too much of an issue, but I know for sure you this is what I want to do. I also believe now is the best time for me to go back to school while working because once I have the baby I will not have time to do school and work at the same time, unless I wait a few years for the baby to start school because I do not want to miss the beginning of my child s life. That being said, I would be finished school in early May. I doubt I will be hired at 7 months pregnant because of looming maternity leave, but will it be an issue for me to be hired if I wait until the baby is 2 months old? Is the 4 month gap too long?
4 AnswersPregnancy6 years agoHow can I get my dog to stop chewing!?
I have a one year old pitbull - lab mix. I have two other dogs she plays with and I take her for long walks everyday. I have a small yard she plays in and she is perfectly healthy. She cannot have a bed because she destroys them immediately. I tried getting her chew toys - even the kong extreme, which is supposedly indestructible, and she had it in pieces in 15 minutes. She has chewed shoes, socks, she goes into the trash for paper towels - not food - towels, glasses, a lap top cord and a chair. I do get her chew toys but she destroys them almost immediately. She is not teething. I'm honestly at my wits end and am starting to believe she genuinely enjoys destroying my things. Please help!
5 AnswersDogs6 years agoQuestions about (possibly) being pregnant at 19?
To start, I'm 19. I graduated high school and am currently going to cosmetology school and I will be graduating in a little under 3 months. I do have a job lined up and am looking at other opportunities as well. I've been with my boyfriend for a little over a year now. He is 23 and works in water proofing. He is well paid but work isn't too steady, so he usually works 3 days. We have a very loving and supportive relationship and we do plan on getting married eventually. We currently rent a room at my grandmothers. We pay half of everything and we are saving to get our own place. I have many younger siblings and I do understand that being a parent means lots of love and sacrifice. I have basically raised my brother since our parents weren't available to us and we were tossed through abusive homes. Despite being raised by people who didn't care much for my happiness, my family has had a lot of high expectations for me. Basically, they wanted me to make a lot of money and take care of them.
Because I'm on birth control and I take it everyday on time, I don't know if normal cycle patterns and ovulation occurs to me. My period isn't due for another 2 weeks, but for the past week, my breasts have been tender, I've been feeling nauseous and I've had cramps and more gas than normal.
My questions are:
Can I take a pregnancy test now, even though I'm on birth control? And how can I tell my family if I am, and once I do, what's the best way to respond to their backlash? Please help!

4 AnswersInvesting8 years agoNeed names with DL initials! Please help.?
My mom is having a baby and put my younger brother and I in charge of naming it. My brother couldn't care less, so all the pressures on me! My brother and I both have the same initials (Destinee Lynn and Damian Lucas). I have never liked my name and I don't want this baby to be stuck with a name that doesn't age well or that they have to tell everyone how to spell. For a girl, I'm thinking Delaney Lux/Leighton and for a boy Drake Logan/Lewis. I am open to any suggestions! Thanks in advance!
14 AnswersBaby Names9 years agoWhat profession should I go into?
I'm 16, and about to start my college process but have no idea what I want to do. My guidance counselor is no help whatsoever, and my family isn't helping much either considering most of them went straight to work out of high school. I like English, History and foreign languages I have no interest in science or math, but fair well in both of them. I took the CORA test, and it said I should consider jobs that have to do with Organization and Influence, which I agree with. I know I don't want to go into the medical field, or most hands on jobs (such as engineering). I'm perfectly okay with a desk job. The only thing I really, really want to do is travel, but I don't want a job for which travelling is mandatory because I want to have a family one day. I'm a people person and I like kids, but I know I definitely don't want to be a teacher. Income wise, it a lot of money is nice but I really just want to be able to afford middle-class to upper-middle class life. Thanks so much in advance!
5 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment9 years agoHow to ask someone I haven't talked to in years to prom?
Okay so, in March I have junior prom and I wasn't really worried about finding a date but then my mom got all over me. So, anyway I go to an all girls' school and I've basically lost contact with all guys besides family members and friends' boyfriends. There's a guy that I have in mind to ask, that my friend suggested because he's friends with her boyfriend, who I went to grade school with but I haven't talked to him since then! The only way I have to contact him is facebook. Any help on how to make this the least amount of awkward it can possibly be would be great, thanks!
1 AnswerSingles & Dating10 years agoHow should we handle my cousin?
My aunt is a single mother of two kids, a thirteen year old girl and a nine year old boy. My cousin (the thirteen year old) is in eighth grade and has been getting into lots of trouble recently. She's been hanging out with a lot of older guys recently (and by older, I mean eighteen/nineteen). Her mother has two jobs to make ends meet and really isn't home a lot. The other night she came home early to find her daughter and a nineteen year old boy in her room with the lights out. (I don't think I need to say what they were doing.) She has also been skipping school a lot, and no matter what my aunt does, she won't listen. My family really doesn't know what to do with this. I want talk to her telling her that her recent behavior is unacceptable and she's just screwing up her life, but I don't want her to feel like I'm talking down to her. My family really can't afford to send her to counseling or anything, what can we do? Please help!
5 AnswersFamily10 years agoWhat can I do to stop my high school years from being a total bust (kind of long)?
I'm a month into my Junior year of high school, and I really love my school a lot. I really spent the last two years struggling to get my grades in check (I go to an all girls prep school where the academics are really intense) and working on my time management, which I know are two really important things. Now, I feel like I have everything under control, but I feel like I don't have a social life. I have two really good friends, and thought I had a group of friends but something just happened that led me to find out they weren't real friends at all. The two friends that I do have, we hang out all the time but we've come to agree that it's getting really boring. I do have other people that I talk to and really have fun with, but they always go out and party on the weekends. I don't want to go out and get totally bombed, but I realized that if I keep doing things the way I have been, I'm going to regret these four years. My parents are kind of strict and would ground me for life if they found me drinking and I have a really good relationship with them, and they really trust me and I don't want to ruin that to have some fun for a night. What can I do? I was thinking about just going to a party and not drinking but when they talk about their parties, that's all they do and it really doesn't seem fun. I just want to hang out with these people more because I do have fun with them, and they aren't snobby like a lot of the girls at my school. Please help!
3 AnswersFriends10 years agoHow do I tell my friend she is being rude?
My best friend and I have been friends since 3rd grade, and whenever she comes over my house, she literally acts like she is at home. We are sixteen and I live with my grandmother and I was raised that when you go to people's houses you conform to their "norms". For example, her family eats lying down on their sofa's, and when I'm at her house, I eat in the living room, but at my house we eat at the kitchen or dining room table, and she always tried to get me to eat in the living room, but we are not allowed to do that. When I tell her about that rule, she says it's stupid. When I'm at someone else's house, I watch what they choose (on TV), but she pouts if we don't watch what she wants. This never really bothered me until recently, I think when her sister insulted my family and I realized how all together rude her family is. We really are best friends and we have so much fun together, but I would never say anything about her family. This is really just a problem when she comes over. Recently, we went on vacation and I brought her adn after getting changed, she left her dirty clothes right in the middle of the floor of the hotel room. It's really embarrassing with my family because I don't want them to think poorly of her. I really don't want to offend her or hurt her feelings, but I want her to know that just because something is okay at her house, doesn't mean it's acceptable anywhere else. Please help!
6 AnswersFriends10 years agoHow can I make my cousin excited about moving?
My cousin, Gabby, is 13 and she has lived in South Carolina her whole life, but now my aunt is moving back to Philly to be with the family again. She is really angry about moving up here because she has to leave all her friends. I can understand why she is upset coming to a new place with people she doesn't really know. She has a boyfriend now and is especially upset she has to leave him, and I tried to explain to her that they're just 13 and the relationship probably wouldn't last more than a few weeks anyway, but she just wants to be miserable about it. I told her I would introduce her to all of my friends (I'm 16) and she could come hang out with us whenever she wants and that she will make new friends. I tried making a plan to show her all the cool stuff we have, I told her about the malls and the benefits of living in a big city over a small city. Her mom told her she can go back to visit because it's not too far away, and she can call them on the phone and what not. I just feel like she isn't even trying to look on the bright side and I understand that this has to be difficult for her, but I really just want to try and make her excited about it. We really aren't into the same things. Different choices of music, tv, and totally different styles. Also, because she's 13 she's kind of awkward. Please help! I just want to try and make this easier for her and I feel like if she has such a negative outlook she won't get to enjoy anything especially since she's going to be living here for at least the next five years, depending on whether she decides to move back when she's 18.
1 AnswerFamily10 years agoHow can I volunteer at a Philadelphia museum?
I would really like to work with a museum. I checked the Art Museum's website, but it doesn't give any information on how old you have to be, or exactly what the volunteers do. The Please Touch Museum says you have to be eighteen to be employed, but I'm not sure if volunteers count for that too. I'm 16 and I have a B+ average, I'm not sure if that helps any. I've also checked the Franklin Institute but most of their positions are filled. Do you know of any museums in the area that allow 16 year old volunteers? I have to be able to get there by Septa, so it can't be too far out of city limits. Please help!
1 AnswerPhiladelphia1 decade agoHow can I get used to sharing a room with someone and make her feel welcomed?
My cousins are moving in because they're having a rough time and I have never met any of them. I am 16 and will be sharing a room with a 13 year old. I've never had to share my room because I only have my younger brother (who will also be sharing a room for the first time). I want to be able to make her feel comfortable and and because I have such a small room, I will be downsizing and am planning on trying to contact her to ask her things she likes so the room can be redecorated for her. I just don't know how to not have my own space. Also, how else can I make her feel welcome? She's moving from North Carolina to Philly and she'll be leaving everything she knows.
1 AnswerFamily1 decade agoHow to control violent outbursts and teach people how to respect boundaries?
I don't want people to get the wrong message, so I just want to say first that my brother and I get along well for the most part, we are really close and love each other very much. My brother is twelve and I am going on sixteen. While we are usually perfectly fine together, every once in a while we get so angry at each other that we end up actually fighting. This used to not be such a big deal, like we wouldn't actually fight, no more than a little pushing or shoving each other to get out of a room. Now my brother is stronger (almost stronger than me) and he's been punching me really hard. Today, while I was talking on the phone with my friend he came into my room and asked if he could hang out with me for a little while. I said no, and he completely ignore me and came over and sat on my bed. I asked my friend to hold on and put my cell phone down on the floor and politely told him he needed to get out and that we could hang out when I was off the phone. He then proceeded to step on my phone and would not leave no matter what I said. I didn't want to tell my parents because he is already grounded and I didn't want to get him in anymore trouble. After I yelled at him so much, I tried to grab his arm and lead him out of the room. It turned into a fight, and I know I shouldn't have fought back, but I really just wanted him to get out. It ended up (like it usually does) with him getting upset and stomping into his room making me feel guilty. But now, not only do I feel bad, I have a bruise on my fore arm that is starting to swell and I can barely use my left arm because it hurts too badly. I really just need to know how to get him to understand that when I say no, he can't ignore me and for both of us to be able to better control our tempers.
Thanks in Advance
1 AnswerFamily1 decade agoShould I double major or not?
I want to be a Hospital Administrator, and I know I want to major in Business Administration, but I also have a passion for Nursing and want to get my BS-RN. Should I double major? Would it help me to get a job? My school also offers, that if you have a BS in any field, you can take a 16 month course in nursing, should I just go that route? I wouldn't mind having to stay in school for an extra year.
1 AnswerHigher Education (University +)1 decade agoShould I dye my hair blonde?
I like my natural hair color (very dark brown), don't get me wrong, but I think it's time for a change. I will be going to a professional if I decide to get it done. I went onto a site to see different colors, and here's the picture (please ignore my friend in the photo): http://www.taaz.com/makeover/181608462057064-12507...
