Half Marathon Training: Should I train by running for a set time or by running a certain distance?
I'm beginning to train for a half-marathon that isn't until July, but I'd like to be prepared. I can currently run 4 miles uninterrupted - is it better to build up stamina by trying to run for a pre-determined distance (i.e. I'm going to try for 4.5 miles today) or a pre-determined time (i.e. I'm going to run for 45 continuous minutes)? Is either better?

If you have a favorite, I'd appreciate it if you could let me know. It can be any photo on the site, it'll be made opaque with some text on it.

5 AnswersWeather1 decade agoIf there were no lawful consequences to a crime, would you still be a good citizen?
What do you think keeps the majority of society from committing crimes? If there were no lawful consequences, just moral and mental consequences, would you commit more crimes? From murder, to things like hit&run accidents or even things like jaywalking. They're all crimes, but would your moral being still prevent you from committing such acts if there were no laws against it?

7 AnswersPersonal Finance1 decade agoIf you hate America, why not just move away?
There are so many people who seem to hate Bush and America and what's going on, so why not just move somewhere else?
You ever realize that America is made up of people who were heavily oppressed by their own governments, so they took it upon themselves to make their own lives better? It wasn't always as easy as hopping on a boat for 3 weeks, suffering through lyme disease and influenza and waving to the Statue of Liberty as you unloaded at Ellis Island. A lot of people, like Soviet Russians or German Jews had to sneak out with risk of death, but still did it.
Yet, here you are, living in arguably the most "free" country in the world, and instead of making your life better by freely moving elsewhere, you just sit there and complain out it?
Anyways...

Now he's not the poster boy of ridiculous athletic salaries anymore... I mean Beckham's making the same amount as A-Rod ($250ish million) but in just 5 years, instead of 10 years. His contract is $1 million a week for the next 5 years...
That's out of hand.

I'm contemplating taking a job there, and the office is in downtown Sacramento, as well as apartments I have been looking into. Is anyone from there, or been there that can give some insight? Is it a nice place? Does it tailor to the younger crowd, or older? Are there good bars, restaurants, parks...things to do? Anything would help...Thank you.
5 AnswersSacramento1 decade agoA thousand bucks for every pound you gain...?
A survey I'm doing for my sociology class:
Money and looks are important factors in life, they seem to be held in such a high regard in American society that I was looking to find out what people thought was more important.
Would you gain weight for money? For every pound you agreed to have instantly added to your current body weight, you would receive $1,000. How many pounds would you agree to gain? I mean, one pound isn't that much, especially for $1,000. And if you can accept gaining one, then what's wrong with two, or three pounds? What about 20, 40 or 100 pounds?
Would you be happier with the wealth, or with the money? Think about how the added weight would affect your life and make you feel.

It's remixed, and refreshing...it was done quite well and with taste and respect to the original recordings. Pick it up if you haven't already.
