  • Best way to travel home with family and luggage? (City of London to Heathrow)?

Hello! I'm traveling back to London next month, and while I've been there before and enjoyed it thoroughly, this time I'm taking family, which complicates things a bit.

I usually just ride the Piccadilly line out of Heathrow as far as I can, and then transfer to other lines as needed. Repeat in reverse on the way home, dragging my carry-on suitcase with me.

This year, however, there will be four of us, with more luggage (because it's cold over there), heading back to Heathrow on a Monday morning at 9 o'clock. Our nearest Tube station is on the District and Hammersmith & City lines.

Which is the best way to go back to the airport? So far, my options appear to be:

    - District line to Piccadilly line, change at Hammersmith to use the lift. Probably overcrowded and hard to board with luggage, since it is rush hour.

    - Hammersmith & City to Paddington, then Heathrow Express/Heathrow Connect. Again, I'm worried about fitting onto the H&C train with luggage, not to mention the stairs up and down to the platforms.

    - Hire a car service. With four people and 4+ suitcases, this probably means two cars.

Any suggestions or advice? I can't change my flight, because there is only one available every day from London to my home airport of Phoenix. Thanks very much in advance.

  • Pick your own World Cup "Group of Death". Who's in it?

Since we always seem to have at least one Group of Death, you pick the unlucky 4 countries this time.
