When does unemployment become welfare?
They keep extending and extending benefits. When does it stop? Should someone get 10 years of "unemployment"? I see tons of jobs out there. They might be paying less than the person things they should make, but at some point you have to suck it up and take what you can get.
And BTW, my wife has been unemployed for close to a year.
8 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoWhere can I get car insurance when I have a pre existing accident from last week?
Got into an accident last week and never bothered to pay for insurance before. Now I want to sign up and get the insurance company to pay for my repairs since they are too expensive for me to pay for. Why won't the companies let me sign up?
I guess this is only the case for health insurance in the future?
11 AnswersPolitics1 decade agothe auto companies got a bailout and now are giving the money to the UAW members so they quit?
Wow, where can I get $115K and a $25K free car to quit my job (and have the government fund it). These guys are as bad as wall st.
5 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoShould Congress have to give back all of the money we paid them and all of their contributions since ...?
Should Congress have to give back all of the money we paid them and all of their contributions since they are doing just as bad as a job as Wall Street and they think that Wall Street should not be paid this year?
4 AnswersElections1 decade agoHow much in taxes has Wall St PAID in the past? How much have their employees PAID?
I guess they should just pay taxes and when they are in trouble, the government shouldn't help them? 97% of Americans get more money from the goverment then they put in (schools, SS, medicare, parks, defense, police, ...) and yet they are complaining that "their" tax dollars are being wasted. Nothing like feeling entitled to everything.
2 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoSo what do you think Obama will accomplish in his first year in office?
What will be the benchmarks for success and failure?
And no stupid answers. I didn't vote for him, but I would like to see what his supporters really think will be accomplished.

18 AnswersElections1 decade agoWhat the heck is a half aunt? Obama's is living here illegally and I was just wondering if I had any too?
In the article from the AP about Obama's aunt living here illegally, the Obama camp called her his half aunt. What the heck is a half aunt? Someone that is your aunt, but is an embarrassment to you so you want to distance yourself from her ?
6 AnswersElections1 decade agoIf Obama is all for spreading the wealth, why doesn't he give McCain some of the money from his campaign?
I guess he feels he worked to hard to share it with anyone else?
20 AnswersElections1 decade agoAfter Obama spends all the money he collects from the people making over $250K, who will be next?
People making $200K? then $150K? then $100K?

18 AnswersElections1 decade agoIf people here are for taxing the rich and helping the poor, then ...?
Should there be a "world" tax to tax all the rich countries and give it to the poor countries that do not have enough food? I really think someone starving in North Korea needs our money more than someone here lacking perfect health care or someone else that cannot retire at 65 instead of 70.
Oh wait, people against this are probably against it because it would TAKE money from them. Taxing the "rich" to help the "middle class" only makes sense when they are not the "rich". If you make $10K a year, you are probably making more that 90% of the people in the world. And the argument for "we have to take care of our own" really means "you have to take care of me, and I do not have to take care of anyone else because I am only thinking of myself".
I am tired of people saying that we should tax the rich, when they really mean, we should tax anyone making more than them.
Who really thinks we should supply more instruments in schools BEFORE we make sure everyone else is fed.
Using the argument "we should take care of our own first" is just using the same argument that racists do when they do now want to help others.
8 AnswersElections1 decade agoWhy is everyone mad at Bush when it is Congress's job to make the laws?
The executive branch just enforces them. Don't get me wrong, I do not think that he is doing a good job, but congress is doing even a worse job. But why are so amy incumbents going to win reelection?
17 AnswersElections1 decade agoIf the Middle Class gets a tax break, and the poor get more of a tax credit, ...?
If the Middle Class gets a tax break, and the poor get more of a tax credit, but the Middle Class is STILL PAYING TAXES, aren't we just taking more money from the middle class and giving it to the poor?
If I use to pay $10K in taxes, and someone else got a $2K tax credit, and now I pay $8K, and someone else get $3K, why don't we just make it that I only pay $7K in taxes and the guy who doesn't pay anything only get the same $2K credit?
I just do not understand Obama's tax plan. I am still paying more than I should to support someone that is not paying any taxes? Why do they need more of my money?
16 AnswersElections1 decade agoAre the Republicans suppose to vote with the President or not?
Now everyone is mad that they voted against the president's wishes, but when they do, they are accused of being just like him (ever hear the quote that McCain has agreed 90% of the time with the president)
What are they suppose to do!?!?
4 AnswersElections1 decade agoSo what if this "bailout" is so flawed that no one participates?
So what if it ends up giving a person dying of thirst, some crackers? Congress is so busy patting itself on the back, but it looks like the stock market is going to DECLINE A LOT today.
From what I read, it seems that it might be better for the banks to decline to participate and try to survive on their own. The way it was set up it will probably end up hurting banks more than it will help. I guess it is another sign of why congress has a 17% approval rating.
6 AnswersElections1 decade agoObama vs McCain in a game of SimCity. Winner gets the presidency?
Let them run simulations on their plans and lets see what happens!!!!
4 AnswersElections1 decade agoPopular Vote vs. Delegate/Electorial count?
So if Hillary wins the "popular vote" in the primaries, Barack wins the delegate count and Barack wins the nomination, what does this do for all of the people that complained that Gore won the popular vote, but lost the election due to the Electorial College?
10 AnswersElections1 decade agoWe hit AMT this year because WE PAID TOO much in taxes. Does that make sense?
Just did our taxes and we owe an extra $2K in AMT. Our ONLY itemized deductions are our State and City (NYC) taxes.
AMT was developed to make sure that the "rich" pay enough in taxes. Does it make sense that I have to pay more in federal tax because I paid too much in city and state tax or did I make a mistake somehow?
God I should of just had fun in college instead of working hard to get a good job. It didn't really pay off.
