What expertise and bias do I bring with me to my answers? I have two bio-children and have lived as both a woman and a man. Playtime: cyclist, bodybuilder and a bit of a fanatic about health and fitness. Education: 2 yr nursing license / BS math, comp science / MS biophysical chemistry Politically, I'm a green liberal with libertarian leanings. Spiritually, depending on the day and my mood, I could be either atheist, agnostic or Buddhist. Philosophically, I'm an enlightened hedonist who is constantly succumbing to uncontrollable urges to perform random acts of kindness. Sexually, I'm bisexual, leaning more towards heterosexuality. But it's ALL good. I trust the scientific method, but for spiritual guidance, I choose my heart over my head. There is no contradiction here. In the words of Walt Whitman, "I am large; I contain multitudes.
How do I get Yahoo to fix their data?
Historical quotes for Kimco Realty Corporation (KIM)-NYSE are incorrect about 50% of the time. I don't know what ticker they are reporting for when they are incorrect, but it is not KIM. They are incorrect right now (10:51 AM PST on 6/5/13)
1 AnswerCorporations8 years agoHow is annualized rate of return calcuated for an investment where cash is added at irregular intervals?
For instance, suppose you have a mutual fund holding and you continue to buy into it and sell out of it at random times.
Assume intial data is a spreadsheet with transaction dates, share prices, transaction dollar amount and value of the fund at the time of each transaction. I want to be able to calculate the annualized rate of return for the fund overall, or for any given time period.
This is just a single instance of a particular problem. Another would be, how to get average annual ROI on say, just your foreign stocks, when money keeps flowing in and out of the foreign stock pool.
I hope someone can answer this! The longer I try to derive how to compute this, the more brain-dead I feel. I give up; how is it done?
3 AnswersInvesting1 decade agoThe essential problem with libertarianism --- do you agree?
In my mind, the global warming situation epitomizes the problem with classical libertarianism, in that free market forces alone cannot compensate a society for the squandering of resources, destruction of ecosystems and environmental pollution accomplished by individuals and corporations in pursuit of profit.
5 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoListen to this MP3 from the Sierra Club on mercury contamination. What you think about it?
Here's the MP3 :http://www.sierraclub.org/pressroom/media/2006/air...
It's 6 minutes long. It's about a recent study where 33% of women in California and 46% in NY (20% entire US) were found to have unsafe mercury levels.
3 AnswersEnvironment1 decade agoI really don't get it. Why is homosexuality such a problem for some of you folks?
Please, this question is just to be answered by the people for whom it is troubling.
Please don't say because the bible says it's a sin. The bible also says eating shellfish and pork is a sin (leviticus 11:10, 11:7) but nobody has their panties in a twist or their shorts in a knot about that.
Please don't say because it's gross and disgusting. That is an incredibly rude comment to make about someone else's personal preference. If that's the case, politeness requires keeping your opinion to yourself.
Please don't say because it's unnatural. It is very natural in the animal kingdom. Check out wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animal_homosexuality#...
I really don't get it. Some people like chocolate; some like vanilla. Some people are gay or lesbian; some are straight. What's the problem? You can't change sexual preference by an effort of the will any more than you could change your favorite ice cream flavor.

8 AnswersOther - Health1 decade agoImagine the scenario describer below. What would be your reaction?
The Scenario: You recently met a cute guy. There is substantial mutual attraction and you've come to care for him as a person. The next time you see him he says, "Sit down. There's something important I have to tell you." He then proceeds to explain that he's an FTM and that he wants to be more than friends.
This question is directed at women only (sorry guys)
There is no "right answer" here. Although stated as a question, this is more like a poll than a question. I'm interested in getting a sampling of the reactions I will get as i pursue straight women in real life. Thanks in advanced to the woman (if any) that take the time to respond. :)
Also, please give me YOUR answer even if someone else may have already given a very similiar answer
