This was heartbreaking; what would you have done?
Yesterday I had to be a witness to something that completely broke my heart: a man with a 5 year old son was living with his girlfriend, who has a 2 1/2 year old daughter. They had been together since the little girl was 3 months old (the man is not the father of the girl). They two children had been raised as almost brother and sister for over two years and are really close to each other.
The man and his girlfriend broke up and he moved out of the house they had been sharing yesterday. As he was leaving, he went to take his son, who ran to the girl and held onto her. The father then had to pry the screaming, heartbroken children apart and took the boy with him. Even though they are not technically brother and sister, they were raised as such and the emotional bond was there. It was heartbreaking to watch these two children be torn apart. It's a shame they have to suffer because the parents couldn't seem to hold it together.
