When I started on the boat I had to firs remove the aluminum and rubber strip the sealed the top and bottom of the boat together. When I took it off it curled because some screws were rested and missing heads so I had to pry them off. Does anyone know where I can replace this aluminum strip with the rubber side bumper? One more thing if anyone is looking to replace the closed cell foam in the middle of there boat project go to jamestowndistributers.com . There is a Polyurethane flotation foam part A and B for $98.00 with shipping. I'm not talking about Evercoat Two Part Foam it's too expensive.

Ok I found my plywood at swanee lumber yard cost 77 bucks for 3/4 sheet. I have ran into another problem with the boat. I think this is a learning experience and have already bought the following. Fiberglass cloth,fiberglass resin, bondo repair ( i don't no why but I bought it just in case ). I have all this because my plan was to take the top of the boat off and fix the transom. Top is off and I went through the floor. I have torn out the floor all the stringers what was left of them and almost all the transom. To do this I had to rip up the fiberglass that covered the floor. My plan is to replace the stringers with the cement composit 2x4 so they don't rot and get 2 more sheets of plywood from the lumber yard. Now there is a couple of problems 1. The styrofoam in the middle of the hull is soaking wet and needs to be replaced. Where can I find this type of styrofoam as cheap as possible or free. 2. There is only 1/4 fiberglass all the way around this boat and I have checked around it's normal. my question is once I replace the transom should I use Aluminum strips attatch to the transom then to the floor for extra support. I want to make sure that I never have to replace the transome again. So far total cost in this project including the boat,moter,trailor and supplise I only have 520 dollars. I already had some stuff and friends have donated for this project.

I have a 75 Glastern Cobra that I just bought and the transom needs to be rebuilt.

1. how do I go about doing this?

2. I was told to use marine grade plywood, where do I get this in Ga. I have looked on the internet and had no luck.

3. Anyone ever done this before?

If got a 98 TJ 5 speed with a 2.5, 3" body lift and and set of 31's from primwell. K & N air filter new plugs, and everything else factory fuel tank is factory 15 gal. I want to get more than 12 to 13 mpg out of it any suggestions?

Also when I crank it, it will turn over for a little bit about 8-10 seconds before it will fire.I have run a tank of seafoam and cleaned all the build up from the air-intake , any suggestions?

kept on overheating and no heat would come out. So he had me look at it. I found that the thermostat was cracked and his plastic housing was also cracked. Filled back up and it ran fine for 2 weeks b-4 started again. He took it to the Ford dealership and they told him that it had a air bubble in it and that the reserve tank was cracked. 500 bucks later it ran for about 6 months still a little warm though. It's doin it again. Now they say the reserve tank is cracked again and warranty is up and now the fan is the reason why it is overheating. Ford wants to charge him 1500 to fix it because it is a "HYDRAULIC" fan never heard of this but oh well. What about a replacement fan that can be wired to a toggle switch or battery. Any answers on this, oh and by the way he can not trade in because he is too far in debt way upside down.

wanted to know is the top motor hydraulic or electric. This is probably big help if anyone knows. Anyway the top does not always want to go up on the first try, any suggestions?

I got a new cat last Jan., now my muffler blew a hole in the bottom of it. What is a good muffler ( after-market ) for performance and sound? Or does it even matter?

I was looking at the auto parts store and the Dynomax says it has more CFM's, what are CFM's? The guys at the auto parts store could not even tell me.

I have a set of 31x10.5x15 on my 98 tj on factory rims. Don't want to get wider rims because gives me a little higher lift on my already 3 inch. If I turn to sharp I am rubbing, so I need to find spacers. The widest that I can get and how much and where?

ok I have a couple or three questions:

1.) I have a 98 tj and wanting to add set of 32x11.5x15. I have 3 inch lift,2.5,5 speed manual. Where can I go to get a good set of tires,not that expensive?

2.)I will need a wider set of rims also not that expensive.

3.) What about gears for these will I be needing to change factory gears, I have 4.10 gear ratio now.

4.) Last but not least if i can't find the size rims I want what about Wheel Spacers.A good brand and a good size 2 inch or 1.75.

Oh buy the way Don't say Ebay I am on there every day looking and have not found anything promising just factory OEM rims and tires.

got a set of rockcrawlers and one of the rims is warped is there some way to fix or do I just have to buy a new one. If I have to buy where can I get an inexpensive one.

can you turn factory jeep rims and run them like this? I know this is not the norm but am thinking of running these like this for a little wile till I can get some wider rims and tires.

Just bought a 98 TJ everything on it is stock. I want to go to a 31 or maybe a 33 tire. What kind of lift kit would be good for this change. Everyday use some off roading. What about drive shafts and yokes do I have to change also.

So was size lift 2/4/or 6 suspension?

I am looking to buy another jeep wrangler. My last one was a 98 2.5,auto (Weak). The one I had before that was a 95 5 speed,4.0 (nice & strong). What I am asking is what is the best year you have ever owned and what made it so great?

I thought I might like it but I don't know looks more like Jeep is trying to get the pansy's to buy. I guess good for marketing to drum up business. But it's not a Real Jeep in my book.

Going on vacation next summer.I want to go to Pheonix and Drive because it cost over 16,000.00 for 5 people and I don't want to spend that much to get there.Want to know if I drive can I get there in 2 days or 3.

Third thingOther people tell me to go to New York or Maine on vacation. I like to go and see different places that most people haven't seen.and that have attractions that you don't have to spend a lot of money. Go where you can bring 16,000.00 for vacation and not be broke in 2 days. If I go to Arizona I will go by and see The Grand Canyon.
