  • Need Help with Monitor Issue?

My PC monitor just started acting up. First it was flashing on and off. I shut off the pc to give it a rest, and now it does nothing. The little blue power light is flashing on and off, but nothing is coming on the screen. Any idea what it could be - or how I can go about fixing it?

  • Did I have a heart attack?

Two days ago, while at work, I started having something really weird happening on the upper left side of my chest. It was like my heart was pounding with a deep boom that seemed to reverberate for a few moments after it happened - and it went on for several hours. I woke up that very morning dizzy and ever since then I've been tired and not myself.

Anybody ever have this happen before or know what it could be? I'm sure I should see a doctor on Monday, but some piece of mind would be nice. TIA

  • Broken Video Card, need help going back to old monitor hook up?

Long story short, I installed a new video card about a month ago and the thing has gotten so screwy that I can't use my desktop at all. What I need to know is how do I get my monitor to hook up to its original connection and work again? I'll be happy to add info if you ask, but at this point I'm totally lost.

Also, whats happening to my monitor now is that after being on for 20 or so minutes, any black screen results in the monitor flashing on and off, over and over again. Its a NVDIA GeForce GT 520 card and I'm using a HP Pavillion 6604y pc. If you can actually help me with that issue it would be a HUGE plus as I hate throwing away money for nothing!

  • Keeper Question, Pick 2?

OK guys, I've spent the last few days throwing out my knowledge on this board and now I can really use some expert help on an agonizing decision. I'm the commissioner of a 2nd year keeper league, and have to decide on what 2 players I'm reserving off my previous year's roster before anyone else submits their choices (those choices are revealed only to me, and revealed a week before our draft).

    My Options:

Aaron Rodgers, Ray Rice, Frank Gore, Andre Johnson

    The League:

12 team, PPR, 6 pts for QB td's, .25 per completion, -.25 per incompletion, all other settings are Yahoo Standard, I have the 11th pick in the 1st round

We're a group of friends that have been playing together for 10+ years, so I fully expect the league to continue for 10 more.

    Personal Take:

Rice: it seems like he's a no brainer, between being so young and having a break out year. However, I'm sure Forte owners felt the same way last year. I also love his playoff schedule.

Gore: Love his playoff schedule too, a bit older, but still a stud when healthy on a team that I feel is on its way up.

Rodgers: How do you not love this guy in such a QB friendly league, and at such a young age. All those sacks from last year do have me a bit concerned, and do I really want to handcuff myself to a QB keeper year after year.

Johnson: Seems to be in a class of his own this year. Still, he has a crap playoff schedule, and is getting old. Could give me the best chance to win this year, but hurt me in the long run.

I know that Brees will be a keeper, and I'm fairly certain that Peyton and Brady will be taken as well. All other QB's should be set free.

I also have the option of trading Rice and Johnson for Chris Johnson and Roddy White to the defending champ. I'm not sure if I want to do that, though, since he seems hell bent on keeping Shonn Greene instead of White (not my favorite move in a ppr league).

    So what do you think?

  • how many fmab dubbed episodes are there?

As huge fans of the original series, my wife and I just started watching Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood on-line, but now that we're around the 20th episode we're beginning to wonder when we'll run out of the dubbed episodes. I know there are around 64 episodes in all; have they all been dubbed and released, or does it end where Adult Swim has the series at (and if so, what episode are they on now?)?

We tend to watch tv shows in blocks (ie we watched Boston Legal's entire run in about a month and a half), so if we're going to run out soon I'd really appreciate the head's up.

I know we could just watch the subbed versions, and normally I would have no objection to that what so ever, but in this case we're so used to the voice actors that the Japanese version just doesn't feel right.

Thanks for any help you can give.

  • dollar dance song, need help?

I hate turning to this but my fiance is at work and I need help.

I have to email the dj with our final playlist, and right before my fiance left she said she doesn't like the song we originally had (Angilina, Zooma Zooma). I'm now thinking either "Just a Giggalo" by Louie Prima, or "With a Little Help from My Friends" by Joe Cocke.

Just a Giggalo, though an old song, might offend her southern methodist family (I would hope not, but still afraid). I love Cocker, but I would have to take his version of "Come Together" off the list if I went that route to not double dip in Beatles covers by the same artist. I'd go with the Beatles 'version, but one more song and I think I'll be getting a bit heavy on them.

Which would you pick, if you were me? or do yu have a better idea? I'd love some help.

  • Food or Cable, you make the call?

Imagine that you've already eaten twice today, both very hardy meals. It's almost 9pm. What would you do in this instance?

In one house you have a huge 72" screen tv, every channel imaginable, 1000's of dvd's, a pool table, a play station 3 (or x-box 360 if you prefer), a pimp laptop with a super fast connection, and a gorgeous view of the countryside. However the house in the middle of no where, 45 miles from the closest store, and there's nothing to eat at all.

In the other house, you have no cable, no tv, no internet signal, not even a clock radio, but its loaded with delectable delights. The choice would be yours of what to eat: pot roast, fried chicken, shrimp scampi, fettuccine alfredo, fillet mignon, home made pies, cookies, cake, ice cream. You name it, you've got it, all without having to lift a finger to prepare it.

So which house would you be at, right now, if faced with these two options (and why, if you've got an inkling to write out your desires)?

  • Has anyone been to a live Goriilaz show before?

I've been a fan for years, and I'm fairly certain that they tour, but I have no clue how the show works. Do the musicians play behind a screen of animation? Is it just a graphical show? Do you see live people? If you've ever been to one, I'd love to hear about it.

  • Need some quick help in a big $$ league?

Thanks for taking the time to read this. I'm sitting 12th in "the world" in a big money ff tourny and this is the last chance I have to sit in front of a computer until tomorrow night, so I desperately need some help.

What I need to know is should I start Indi's D against the Texans or Pitt's D against the Ravens. (return yards don't count)

Indi will be missing Dwight Freeney (Go Big Orange!), which should diminish the pressure they can put on Schaub giving him more time to find the open man. On the flip side, with Polamalu out Pitt's D just isn't that special. And now that Big Ben is inactive, the offense should run into a lot of three and outs, leaving the defense on the field for an extended amount of time.

I would think that Indi is facing is the more dangerous offense, but Pitt has more obstacles to overcome.

Can anybody help? The grand prize is worth $250k, and every point counts, so I'd love to get this right. (11 points awarded asap for the most logical answer)

  • Who to start in a PPR league - week 11?

In a 10 man PPR league, and looking ahead to next week. I can start 2 of the 4 between a WR and Flex slot.

    Forte v. Phili

    Mendenhall @ KC

    Boldin @Stl

    Lynch @Jax

I'm leaning towards Mendenhall and Boldin, but Boldin hasn't played like himself this year and Mendenhall is coming off a terrible game. Forte is starting to pick it up, but the Phili D scares me a bit there. And I normally wouldn't even have Lynch in the conversation, but Jax got torched by Chris Johnson very recently, so he could stand to have a big game.

So what would you do if you were me?

  • Would you trade D Driver for V Davis?

I've got Driver, and the other team is desperate for receivers in a 12 team ppr league. Would you offer this trade?

I'm currently in 3rd place of a very competitive league with only 4 playoff spots. I've got the lead in over-all points, but I have 2 losses and some very close wins, so I figure I could use the extra fire power, but Andre Johnson's injury has me nervous to pull the trigger.

    My roster:

    QB: Rodgers

    WR: A Johnson

    WR: Sims-Walker

    RB: Gore

    RB: Addai

    Flex: R Rice

    TE: Heap

    Bn: D Driver

    Bn: A Collie

    Bn: A Gonzalez

    Bn: E Royal

    Bn: B Wells

    Bn: D Brown

  • Fantasy Writer's Challenge: Is you best better than mine?

We're just past a quarter of the way through the fantasy season and I want to know how good your BEST team is and is it better than mine?

There' plenty of fantasy mouths and minds on this board, so I want the very best of the best! Make sure to include the league size, scoring system, along with your record and league standing.

I'm a fantasy football writer for another site, that I won't mention as not to break the ToSA, but I can say that I'm having a pretty good year in some very competitive leagues. In a total of 7 leagues I'm no worse than 3rd in points, with an overall lead in two of them (including a 20 team league with 25 players per roster), and I'm 2nd in 3 more. In my worst league (#5 of 12 with the overall points lead) I'm pitted against 2 players (#2, #4) that are weekly readers of my column, so I can't feel too bad about my losses to them both.

In all of my leagues, I'd say that my very best team comes from a 10 man ppr league that starts 2-QB 2-RB 2-WR 1-TE 1-Flex 2-K 2-Def.

I'm 4-1,1st in points, and 1st overall, with a roster of:

    QB: Schaub, McNabb, (Flacco)

RB: Forte, (R Rice), Mendenhall, (Lynch), (F Jackson)

WR: A Johnson, Boldin, Welker, (K Walter), (A Gonzalez)

    TE: Heap

    K: Tynes, Scobee

    Def: Minnesota, Atlanta

    * this weeks bench players in ( )

It's a great PPR team even for only being a 10 man league, but I know there's better out there. So, whatcha got?

  • Would you make this trade offer?

The offer would be me sending over Zach Miller and Steve Breaston (or Josh Morgan) for Greg Olsen and a throw away player.

I'm in a 12 man ppr league starting QB, WR, WR, RB, RB, Flex, TE, K, DEF, IDP, IDP. I drafted from the 12 spot, and overall I'm pretty happy with the way things turned out but my spot left me out of position for a TE. My offensive roster consists of:

    QB: A Rodgers, T Edwards

    RB: F Gore, J Addai, R Rice, D Brown, L McCoy, A Bradshaw

    WR: A Johnson, A Gonzalez, D Driver, S Breaston, J Morgan

    TE: Z Miller

The guy I'm offering the trade to has D Jackson, B Berrian, T Ginn Jr, and P Crayton as his WR's, with G Olsen and B Celek as his TE's.

So would you make this offer, and what do you think the chances are that it will be accepted?

  • Commis Draft Question?

It's been a while since I've run a league, so I would appreciate a little help. I've got a fantasy football league set up, all 12 spots are filled, and the draft is set for this Sunday @3. Is there anything else I have to do to before we draft?

I seem to remember that in year's past you had to set your league's draft status to "Ready", but I can't seem to find where I would have to do that. I'm thinking that it's not necessary, but I'd rather not assume.

    Can any experienced commissioners help?

  • Rate my FF Rapid Draft?

I just won a free team from http://www.rapiddraft.com/ If you aren't familiar with the site, it's an oddball league where you draft against 11 computerized teams, each programmed to represent the draft rankings and drafting patterns of a fantasy football expert (including USA Today's and Althon's ff experts). You then play each one of the computerized teams once, and based on how you do, you're kicked into a playoff bracket with other real players to comete for various prizes (including cash!).

It's a ppr league, 12 teams, 10 rushing/recieving yards per point, 6 per rush/rec td, 20 passing yards per point, 3 per passing td. Def and K scoring are fairly basic, but notice there's no negative points for fumble/ints.

Anyway, here's my team. Please let me know what you think. And if you've done a rapid draft too, I'd love to hear how you made out. Personally, I've never even heard of the site until this week.

    Starters:

    QB Rodgers

    RB Jones-Drew

    RB Rice

    WR Wayne

    WR Welker

    WR A Gonzalez

    Flex Driver

    TE Olsen

    K Gostowskie

    Def Pitt

    Bench

    QB Orton, Bulger

    RB C Taylor, M Bush, G Coffee

WR K Walters, M Jenkins, Robiskie

    TE Pettigrew

    DEF Chi

  • Need a recomendation for a FMA couple?

About a month ago I convinced my fiance to watch Full Metal Alchemist with me, and despite her hesitations (her siblings love anime, so naturally she's hated it for years) she's really taken to the show. I know she loves the dynamic between the brothers, the unspoken attraction between Winrey and Ed, as well as the strong, yet not cartoonish (funny choice of words), female characters. Personally, I've seen most of the episodes before on Adult Swim, but its been really cool getting to watch it all in order.

The problem is that we're almost to the last episode, and I have no idea what to watch next. What would you suggest and why?

Oh, and please don't say the movie (which my roommate owns), or the new version of the series that comes out next week (I'm waiting for the English version, which I'm sure will take at least a year, and I doubt she'll watch what will be basically the same story).

Thanks in advance for your time.
