  • China Boycott!!!?

From what I am hearing and seeing in the news, it does not appear that the US government plans any kind of official boycott or protest towards China. Clearly another failure by our leaders to use their influence for issues that are truly important.

Here is what I suggest, I suggest that instead of calling for a boycott of the Olympics (which we know that the governments are not likely to do) that instead we boycott any products/companies that sponsor the olympics in China! If we can't influence them politically then perhaps we can influence them the same way lobbyists do...ECONOMICALLY.

  • Paris Hilton!!!?

Just read recently that Paris Hilton was released from jail today due to "medical concerns." First she was given time off for "good behavior" prior to going in. (Which is unusual given that usually this is awarded to actual inmates who are behaving well.) Now after only 3 DAYS she's being released under house arrest. Yeah, this is real punishment...staying at home in daddy's plush mansion. This is yet another example of how people with money are able to skirt the law. Any other joe shmo would have had to serve the full term. This is a travesty of justice! I think that we should petition to put her bony spoiled but back in jail!!! What do you think???

  • To all the women out there...?

I often hear women talk about how they look for a "good" man. Definitions of what constitutes a "good" man varies. Yet from my observations a good man is not what women tend to gravitate towards. In my experience, most women gravitate towards the "dangerous" man. The bad boy who is more likely to treat a woman like dirt is often pursued rather than the "good guy" that is always overlooked. It seems to me that the "good guy" always finishes last. Can anyone explain this to me?

  • Why is prostitution still illegal in the U.S.?

Aside from the obvious Puritanical religious reasons, can anyone give me any LOGICAL reasons as to why prostitution is still illegal in the United States today? Some claim that it is for health reasons but this argument is clearly bogus. In countries & regions where it is legal (and regulated) the instance of sexually transmitted diseases is actually lower (per capita) than in regions where it is illegal. In addition, if it's regulated the prostitutes can get regular medical attention and safer workplaces. Plus there would be additional revenues for the government to collect on. So...if no one is getting hurt...while keeping health & safety issues under closer scrutiny...generating legitimate revenues for both patron & government...why is this still illegal?

  • Why doesn't the United States of America attempt to expand itself anymore?

I'm sure that there are a number of small countries out there that would love to become a district or state of the US. Why is there never any effort to offer statehood to other regions or countries? How would we go about inducting a prospective region into the US as a state or district?
