I'm a 14 year old girl and I enjoy sarcastically answering paranormal questions (i.e. Where can I buy a pet mermaid?) I'm also quite fond of my writing abilities. =]

16 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoWhat are some good books that a boy entering 8th grade could read over the summer?
My sister is tutoring a kid entering 8th grade this fall and she's trying to come up with a list of books that he could choose from. Also, if you have any math or science topics that would be good to cover with him that would be helpful too. Thanks!

15 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoDo you know of any good, complicated movies like Deja Vu with Denzel Washington and....?
Zodiac, the one about the zodiac killer. I really like action movies like that that are complicated and twist and turn into surprising endings. Another good example is fight club, or man on fire, also with denzel washington. Or gone baby gone. (I'm just listing these movies because I've already seen them so there's no need to recommend them).
Thank you for any and all suggestions. =)

3 AnswersMathematics1 decade agoDo you know any good scary movies?
I mean actually scary movies. Like, I think all the shyamalan movies are really scary (I just watched the happening). The hills have eyes, the ring, and the saw movies have all scared me a lot, but most of the time when I rent a horror movie, it just ends up being a bundle of bad acting and fake effects.
So if you know of any good scary movies, could you please tell me? A nice psychological thriller with a surprise twist would be nice too. (But i've already seen the #23 and the 6th sense)
Thanks so much!

4 AnswersFacebook1 decade agoBonding trip with older kids....It'll either be a great time or I'll be really shy. PLEASE read i need help?
So im a freshman in high school and its my first year in student council and they're having a bonding night this friday. It's dinner and a corn maze, and I'm not exactly sure if I want to go.
I'm jewish, so it's kind of a stretch to go on a friday night because it's the sabbath. I usually like to just chill out at home. Plus, I'm nervous about going because I'm the only freshman on student council and everyone else older than me....I'm not like anti social or anything but I don't really have friends in grades above me.
But then again, if I don't go, I'll probably be one of the few who don't go, I'll continue to be shy at all the meetings, and I'll miss out on a lot of inside jokes and memories.
Do you think I should go? I really have no idea what to do on this....please help!!

1 AnswerFriends1 decade agoFan's of the twilight series?! Don't you guys think that this song reminds you of New Moon and Eclipse?
I'll Be Waiting by Lenny Kravitz
http://searchbeta.playlist.com/tracks#lenny%20krav...
(that's the link for the song on playlist.com)
Not only is it a really good song, but it reminds me SO MUCH of Jacob's feelings towards Bella! Honestly, he could have WRITTEN this song. The feelings this song arouses in me are so strong that it almost swayed me to team Jacob (back before BD came out!)
Tell me what you think!!
2 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoBook suggestions for a 14 year old girl?
I'm not exactly sure why I'm asking this seeing as I've got four books out of the library already....but hey I'll need more when I finish them! :-)
My favorite books:
Twilight series
HP series
Burned & Impulse
The Host (stephenie meyer)
Blood and Chocolate
The Hunger Games
I would love some good fantasy books to read. I'm also into eery books. And I'd LOVE a good murder mystery book!
Keep in mind that I want something appropriate for my reading level. That is, not too easy but not too hard. Thanks a bunch!
13 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoRead and critique my writing?
We had to rewrite a story from a girl's point of view....How do you like it? Be honest! :-D
It’s a blazing hot summer day- the kind of day when you get out of the water because you’re tired, not because you’re too cold. The sun was cooking us relentlessly, so, since my parents asked me to anyway, I drive down to the A&P store with Macy and Jen, going as slow as the honking cars behind me will allow so that I can enjoy the air conditioning as long as possible.
I don’t realize until we pull in that we all left our sandals at the beach.
“Crap,” I mumble as I park our tiny buggy. “We forgot our shoes.”
“They’ll be there when we get back,” Macy says warmly.
“But what are we supposed to wear in the store?” Jen asks.
I roll my eyes as sudden confidence sweeps over my body. “I’m going in barefoot.”
I put my large toe on the tar tenderly, and just as I suspected, it bites back at me like a fire ant. But I keep my composure, barely wince, and slowly ease myself onto the blacktop.
“Let’s go,” I call into the car, my eyes watering in pain.
The girls hop out at the same time, shrieking at the same pitch when their skin touches the tar. It’s a hop, skip, and a jump before they reach the white sidewalk lining the entrance to the store.
“You ought to walk on coals, you wild woman,” Macy snaps at me.
I roll my eyes at her and step into the store where the air conditioner is blasting and the cold tile floor feels like heaven on my feet.
We’re about three steps in before I regret bringing a dress to throw over my bathing suit. All the men in the store aren’t even trying to hide their wandering eyes, and though I consider crossing my arms to put an end to their show, I realize that this is probably going to be the highlight of their day. These pasty skin geeks probably spend their entire summer cooped up behind the cash register, so I figure, why not add a little excitement to their lives?
We comb through the aisles trying to look for the canned fish I was sent out to get, but all our minds are on the men in the store.
I stop to ask some old guy standing by the peaches where to find some Fancy Herring Snacks, and as we walk to where he pointed us (three aisles down) I can feel his beady little eyes on the small of my back. I don’t mind the cute guys by the counter checking me out, but a 60-something leathery creep is a whole different story.
I finally find the fish, and even though I know we all want to get out of there as soon as we can, I’m careful to take slow, steady steps to the counter, not wanting to jiggle anything unnecessarily.
I plop the fish down in front of the guy at cash register number three, and I open my mouth to remind him where my eyes are but close it again, remembering my deal with myself to give these guys a bit of a show. Of course, with his eyes several inches below my face, he doesn’t notice anything.
So when he rings it up (49 cents) I decide to give him a big finale, and I reach into my bikini top where I have my dollar bill nestled. I hand it to him with a cool smile, and I practically laugh as he struggles to tear his eyes away from me long enough to give me my change.
But just when we think we’re about to get out of here unscathed, some bozo comes out from some back door and starts spazzing on us for wearing “beach attire”. It’s so embarrassing too, because here I am, doing all that I can to look cool and nonchalant in front of these dudes, when some weirdo just has to come out and yell at us for showing too much skin.
I try to explain to him that we came in here for one thing, and we were just about to split, but the guy’s adamant about giving us a hard time. He probably wants to teach us darn kids a lesson- reminds me of my old Sunday school teacher.
But then I look down and see our can of fish all wrapped neatly in its bag, and it’s the perfect time for an escape, so the three of us breeze out the door, just as I hear the cashier quit to his boss.
The second we get in the car, we start laughing hysterically at the poor kid’s attempt to impress us.
