Computer Overheating Issues?
When playing video games on my computer, (specifically Overwatch) there are times where I lose connection to the internet on my computer entirely while still having my wifi network 'secured' and offline performance slows down significantly; restarting the PC and internet router tends to fix this. This usually happens about half an hour to an hour into a play session and happens when a lot is happening onscreen. My GPU temperature is at a constant 80 degrees Celsius/176 Fahrenheit and my CPU 70 degrees Celsius/158 Fahrenheit when playing Overwatch, even with all graphical settings being considerably low. A friend of mine said it might be my motherboard overheating, but wasn't entirely sure. Does anybody know what these issues could pertain to? Any help would be great.
1 AnswerOther - Computers5 years agoWhen buying a guitar/bass, what is more important, playability or sound?
While I'm not in the market for a new instrument now, I have been researching bass guitars for when the moment comes to upgrade. With this knowledge and some hands on experience, I am torn between Fender's two most iconic basses.
After playing on a Squire P Bass for close to two years, the slimmer neck profile of a MIM Jazz Bass felt amazing to play with. I'm not opposed to the thicker style that the Precision Bass boasts, but playing on a Jazz Bass was significantly more comfortable and (dare I say it) more enjoyable.
However, I much prefer the deeper sound of the P Bass' split coil pickup to the treble-heavy single coils the Jazzes have. The jazz just doesn't pack enough bass for my liking and pales in comparison to the Precision Bass, even if it is more versatile.
On that note (no pun intended), I am indecisive between which of the two basses to get. Bare in mind that I am a bedroom player and don't see myself playing live anytime soon. So what's more important, feel or sound?
Performing Arts5 years agoI don't know what to do with my life.?
I am on the verge of being 19 years old and I have no idea what to do with my life. I graduated high school last year but did not achieve any qualifications to make it into any university. Because of this, I am repeating grade 12 of high school, and am feeling more anxious than ever. I have always struggled in keeping a healthy self esteem and feeling comfortable being myself; I find it hard to be relaxed in the tamest of social situations and humiliate myself as a result. I'm so embarrassed about going back to high school that I have lied to many close friends of mine, saying that I got accepted into a university and that I'm taking a year to work at my part time retail job. In both of my years as a high school senior, I have struggled to stay motivated and to complete the work as I feel that I'm not smart enough and that working in retail is the peak of my capabilities. Even when I think I'm doing well, I fear about having to move away from my hometown to attend university; none of my friends are going and I find it hard talking to people outside my immediate family/close friends. Having worked in retail for 4 years, I can say that turning it from an after school job into a career is not in my interests; I want something more gratifying to keep me stimulated and a higher income in case I choose to have a family. I even shy away from committing suicide, even though I persistently think that it is the right thing to do. I'm out of characters. Please help.
2 AnswersPsychology5 years agoGive Me Honest Feedback on My Bass Playing.?
I've been playing bass for about a year and want some opinions on how I'm going. Here's a little reel I made that has a bunch of different songs that range from different musical styles.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymfclgqyXfs&featur...
Say anything you want. What am I good at? What do I suck at? Is there potential or should I just quit before I spend any more time and money?
What songs did you think I performed the best in, and what songs do you think I need work on?
Don't hold back; give me your absolute honest opinion on my playing.
Bonus Question: Would the type of songs I was playing suit a Jazz Bass or a P Bass? I probably won't be getting a new bass for 2+ years, but I'm just curious.
3 AnswersPerforming Arts5 years agoIs spending $865 dollars on computer parts too much?
Or more specifically, about $1,150 AUD. This is for somebody that uses the computer everyday, and about three or four days a week gaming. These parts include a graphics card, a new monitor, a sound card and other smaller peripherals. This person's current set up is average, but is going to be mundane in the coming years. They consider gaming one of their hobbies and don't usually buy a lot of things.
3 AnswersDesktops5 years agoHow to Properly Practice Guitar?
I think I have gotten decently skilled at guitar in the year and a half I have been playing for. I would still categorize myself as a beginner, maybe dipping my toes into some intermediate territory, but I am still a large stretch away from being considered good. I feel like most of my time playing the guitar now pertains to me noodling around with material I am already comfortable with. I want to improve my playing on all levels; from legato, to scales and even finger-style playing.
My main issue is that I have no idea where to start. I get so overwhelmed that I end up just screwing around for half an hour and getting nowhere. I need some direction guiding me to what I could be practicing and how long for. I know this is going to be a difficult question to answer, but is there any particular program that you would recommend for developing my skills? A course that touches bases on all aspects of playing and is appropriate for a late beginner/early intermediate player would be optimal giving my experience with the instrument.
Thanks for your help.
1 AnswerPerforming Arts5 years agoWhat Electric Guitar is Right for Me?
I would consider myself an intermediate player who had spent the last year and a half stomaching a questionably made Squier Affinity Bullet Tele. As someone that has a quite a wide musical taste, I'm finding hard to nail down a specific guitar that is right for me.
If I were to pinpoint a favourite genre of mine, it would be 90's - 2000's rock (both of the clean and dirty variety); Radiohead, Muse, Queens of the Stone Age and Rage Against the Machine to name a few bands. However, I am starting to show interest in genres like jazz, lounge, fingerstyle and specifically funk. I would still say that the majority of what I play is the aforementioned rock.
I was looking at Epiphone Les Pauls initially, as I wanted a HH configuration, but am scared of their thicker necks, as I have smaller hands. I feel like a MIM Fender would be a good choice as I have played one and am in love with their clean sound and the feel of the neck, but want something that can handle a bit of gain. Regarding budget, I would say that anything close to $1,000 AUD would be fine (that's approximately 480 pounds and $700 USD)
I don't have much of an opportunity to test a lot of guitars out, as the closest music store only stocks Fender/Squier and Gibson/Epiphone.
I played a number of Epiphone Les Pauls and found that their necks to be quite sticky, is that because of the finish or the construction of the neck?
I was looking at the Epiphone Les Paul Tribute Plus, any opinions on this model?
6 AnswersPerforming Arts5 years agoEpiphone Les Paul or Epiphone Dot/335?
Specifically, the Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus Top Pro and the Epiphone Dot.
I am on the cusp of buying a new guitar (one of the two in question), but am in need of a second opinion. I mostly play 90's-2000's rock (Muse, Queens of the Stone Age and Radiohead among others), both clean and dirty. However, I am starting to explore other genres of music such as blues and particularly jazz.
I know the LP would be the more reliable option, but from what I've heard, I much prefer the clean tones of the Dot. With that said, I have heard that semi-acoustic guitars are infamous for having an absurd amount of feedback when played with medium to high gain. Could somebody elaborate on this?
Which guitar do you think would be the better choice?
Yes, I will be playing the guitars before purchase.
3 AnswersPerforming Arts5 years agoSeriously considering suicide?
To put simply, I'm extremely timid socially, offer no valuable skills to a workplace, have no career path I'm passionate about and as stated before, can barely speak without nervously stuttering or coming off as unapproachable.
I'm 18 years old and have no life ambitions; none of the university courses I signed up for interest me, as I only picked them as placeholders because I had pressure from time and family (who only want what's best for me). On the other hand, I know a career without a degree will make me feel worse about myself, as I will feel unaccomplished and know that the income will be less, as I have already accepted that I'm not going to like a job that is realistic for me to get into to. That's provided that I get into university, as I have had a plethora of technical issues and self doubt in my school work that has lead to everything being sub par; C or below (in Australia, your high school performance is instrumental into getting into university or any other further study).
I am also extremely anxious socially; barely able to form full sentences to people that I even have known for years. This has held me back from having as good as a life as I could have. The few close friends I do have won't be around for long, as many are either joining the army or staying in my current town, which I plan on leaving for university. I just won't be able to make any new friends with how socially inept I am.
I wanted to write twice as more but I couldn't...

2 AnswersInvesting7 years agoGood Beginner/Intermediate Bass Guitars?
After playing both guitar and bass for the past 6 months, I am looking to invest in a bass guitar. I am looking for something that is suitable for somebody that is new to the bass guitar yet has some experience with it. Out of the two stringed instruments I have played, I have played a Squier branded guitar and an ESX branded bass; I liked the way the Squeir felt but absolutely hated the ESX; do Squier/Fender basses feel like their guitars?
I am someone with slightly smaller-than-average hands but can adapt to basses with larger frets if necessary.
Price is not an issue right now, just as long as it isn't absurd for the situation.
Bonus Question: I am planning on guitar a lead that can plug into my computer so I can use programs like FL Studio as an amp; is this a good idea? If I do this would I need an amp? If you do recommend getting an amp; is there any in particular that are good for my situation?
Thanks for your time.

I already have Australia's involvement as a reason why they didn't and the use of atomic bombs as to why they did.
I'm doing an oral presentation for my history class and need reasons both supporting and declining the question above.

6 AnswersMilitary7 years agoIssues with DirectX 11?
My computer is running on Windows 7 64 bits and I am having an abundance of issues with DirectX 11. Every game is impacted somewhat, some not being able to run at all. When I try to install it again, I get a message stating "An internal system error occurred. Please refer to DXError.log and Directx.log in your windows folder to determine the problem".
I have tried a system restore, but it did no justice to the situation.
Games such as Garry's Mod and Battlefield 3 fail to run because of this issue and I am (obviously) looking for a solution.
1 AnswerSoftware7 years agoIs Being an Audio/Sound Engineer a Good Career Choice for Me?
As a grade 11 high school student, I have been brainstorming career ideas when the concept of being an audio engineer came to my mind. Being a drummer for 2 years and delving into music production with programs such as FL Studio and expanding on my tastes in genres the past year has motivated me to look into this choice of career.
First and foremost, is it a well paying career? Is it easy to find a job?
What lessons will help me the most in high school? I am currently doing English, Maths, Legal Studies, Physics and Chemistry and can ease into Music if needed because I had completed grades 8-10 and am available to transfer if needed.
What education will I need post high school? I'd assume university although the particular course is not as clear for me.
What are other notable aspects that should be considered?
Finally, is it enjoyable to pursue as a career?
Thanks for the help
1 AnswerOther - Music7 years agoGood Microphone/Headphones?
I am planning on getting a good pair of headphones and a microphone for Skyping, general music listening (and brief production of FL Studio) and gaming on PC, PS3 and possibly PS4. What is a good combination of headphones and a microphone or a good headset?
I am aiming for under $100, preferably closer to the $60-$80 range. I am wondering what specific model/models of equipment is recommended for the aforementioned purposes. I heard the "Turtle Beach P11's" were good for my situation, any opinions? Should I get a headset (such as Turtle Beach, Astro's etc.) or a combination of headphones (insert generic headphone brand and model here) and a microphone (Blue Snowball etc.). If I do go with option B, I won't necessarily buy them together (it would be preferred to do so though) and I'll likely get the headphones over the microphone first.
Thanks for helping.
