  • XP is playing an unidentified audio file?

At random moments, XP plays a random 1 second long audio clip. It happens when there is no media player open, and often, with no window open. Usually when the computer is idle.

It sounds like some laughing gremlin.

I can't find the sound under the control panel sound scheme. And searching for *.wav produces 3500+ results.

AVG Anti-Virus is up to date and finds nothing. I used Nod32's online trial and all it found was a single Adware threat. Anybody have an idea what to try next?

  • Snoopy's World War One Memorial?

I remember, in the late 80's, watching either a movie or television show that included an animated World War One memorial.

Snoopy, as the World War One flying ace, was standing in a poppy field in France, surrounded by the white crosses of grave markers.

Does anybody know the name of this animation?

  • What is this patch?

I saw a patch very similar to this at a military show in Louisville, Kentucky last month. I made this bad photoshop copy to illustrate what it looked like. http://s302.photobucket.com/albums/nn98/Super-uber...

The table was manned by the owners son, who knew nothing about it. I didn't have time to wait for him. Anybody know what this is or if it is even something used by any military branch in real life?

If you cannot see the picture, it looks like a blue set of U.S. Air Force, Enlisted rank stripes with the star in the middle replaced by the parachute logo from the Paratrooper badge from WWII. Any ideas?

  • How to transfer songs from I-Tunes to Non-Ipod mp3 player?

My Ipod is dead... According to my black lab, it is just an expensive chew toy.

Until I get my new Nano, I snaged a cheap COBY mp3 player.

Whats the easiest way to transfer songs from I-tunes AAC to mp3 and onto the new player?

  • What does "S.S." mean on a civilian ship?

You've seen it before. Ships named SS Minnow, SS Tahoe, or SS Red Oak. What does that SS stand for?

  • How does Section 8 work in Ohio, again?

I took in a friend who was in need of a place to stay, after an emergency. She is a single mother with a 2 year old daughter. She said she's "been approved and is 'Number 10' on the waiting list." The way she explains it she is assigned a home, something akin to being assigned a room in a college dorm. Is that right?

  • Should the US Congress be forced to follow an attendance policy?

The Independent, a news organization from the UK reported today, "One thing that will not change is the rules for television coverage of the House, which is currently limited to close-up images of floor speeches. The rules do not allow panning shots that would show that, in 99 cases out of 100, the speeches were made to an empty chamber."

Any other job will require you to show up for your job to be paid. Why should we not hold congress to to an attendance policy?

  • Where can good Republicans get news from?

Every major news outlet EXCEPT FOX NEWS is apparently "Full of liberal lies" Can you trust anyone else? When every major news source in the world disagrees with FOX, there must be billions of liars in the journalism industry.

  • Who do you think Jack Hanna works for?

You may know him as "Jungle Jack", the guy who brings animals on The Tonight Show, or some similar television show to show them off, and promote zoo attendance nationwide. Do you know which zoo actually employees him?

If you have look it up, tell me what your first guess was too, please.
