  • Canzone italiana elettronica?

  • Easy - is this an example of Prisoner's dilemma?

An example of the Prisoner’s Dilemma is the situation a person is in if she is arrested for a crime and given the choice between pleading guilty and taking a short jail sentence or pleading not guilty and risking a longer sentence but also having the chance of being found innocent and not having any jail time.

    Is it true or false?

  • I eat all the time even though I'm super full! Help!?

I'm 18 and currently weigh about 140 lbs. Basically, eating for me is not determined at all by hunger. I'm never really hungry - I only eat because I like eating. It has become a big problem in the last months, and I've gained about 15 lbs. I don't know what to do anymore. Being completely full doesn't stop me from eating more. I have tried to tell myself often that what I'm doing is not healthy and that I should lose weight and stop eating that much. I've also tried to motivate myself by reading "successful stories" or watching pictures of myself when I was skinnier. It usually works but only in the short-term. I can limit my diet severely for a couple days then I go back to eating a lot and all the effort goes waste.

Is there anything at all I can do about this problem? It's really making me miserable.

  • Good comeback for this sarcastic being that I might like?

I was emotionally involved with this guy, and we both liked each-other and hanged out quite a lot. When things started getting serious and heading towards a relationship, though, he told me he wasn't ready for a relationship and he didn't want to hurt my feelings by keeping this going. Even though it broke my heart, I kind of understood him because he had just gotten out of a very serious relationship and also we're college freshman so I guess it's fair that he wanted some freedom and space.

This happened a few weeks ago. Yesterday, I go on facebook and see that his status is sth sarcastic that I said to this other guy, where he had tagged both me and the other person. I'm quite confused, because we haven't talked since then, and also what i said was pretty sarcastic and maybe funny, but probably it was still too weird for him to put it as a status. So I commented: "Seeking attention much?" and he replied "No, i get too much already."

Now, first I dont know how to interpret his attitude. He's pretty random often, so maybe this doesn't mean anything at all to him?

Also, what is a good comeback to his comment? I thought sth. like: "good that you do at least when you're home" (we're on spring break)

  • My boyfriend is at Mardi Gras - is he being promiscuous?

My bf has gone to Mardi Gras in New Orleans with his best friend. He has texted me once since, and I haven't texted him anymore after that because I wanted to leave him his space. Now I see that he has added on facebook this girl from New Orleans that he obviously met there.

I have never been to Mardi Gras and I don't know what happens. So, what should I expect? Sb. told me it's just a massive party where people go crazy... Is it common for people to hook up/ be promiscuous there?

    Thanks.

  • Is it true that Apple offers a free iPod touch if you buy a Mac?

I'm a college student and I read at apple.com that: If you’re a college student or a faculty or staff member at any grade level and you buy a new Mac with Apple education pricing from May 25 through September 7, 2010, you can get a free 8GB iPod touch.

Does anybody know whether they refund completely the iPod? So, can I be sure that the iPod is free or is there some trick in it and I actually have to pay some money?

    Thank you.

  • A few, not difficult, problems with integrals?

    1. Find the area bounded by the curve y = x^2 and the line y = x + 2, between x = -2 and x = 0.

    2. Find the indefinite integral of x * e^x

    3. Find the volume of the solid formed by revolving the region bounded by y = x^2 and the lines y = 1 and x = 2 about the line y = 1.

I have solved the three problems, but I need to check the answers. Thanks!

    B. (1/2)(x^2/cos(x))^(-1/2) * (2x/(-sin(x)))

    C. (1/2)sqrt((cos(x)2x + x^2sin(x))/cos^2(x))

    D. (1/2)(x^2/cos(x))^(-1/2) * (cos(x)2x + x^2sin(x))/cos2(x)

  • Yale, Columbia or Brown University? Which would you choose?

I got accepted in these three amazing universities and I don´t know what to choose...

I have adored Brown since always, I´ve loved its sense of freedom, it´s excellence, everything. Columbia seems amazing, preppy and exciting, and it´s campus is gorgeous, plus located in NYC which is a definite plus. But Yale, on the other hand, is the third best university in the world (for this year, cuz it has also been the first many times); it´s prestige and academic excellence is superior.

Which should I choose? Which would you, if you were in my shoes? And why?

    Thanks.
