  • I believe my fathers death was a product of involuntary euthanasia need advice?

My father was very ill. He had chronic pancreatitis, copd, diabetes, and has been living with these conditions for the last 8 years with it starting from the pancreatitis. He has been married to my stepmom for only 10 of these 8 years and it is very obvious that he has been a burden for her. He has been in and out of the hospital for the last couple of weeks but my main concern is the events that happened 3 days before his death (my father was only 47). My stepmother kept making comments about how she wanted them to just stop treating his diabetes and remove his oxygen help (he'd been living with for 4 years). I explained to her that that would be murder it is the hospitals obligation to continue to treat what they had been treating before. My father was still eating on his own, going to the bathroom, and drinking on his own but, was heavily sedated. In his last day of life in the hospital there was talk of my step mom wanting to set him up with hospice and was asking questions about what she could do (take him off oxygen, stop checking his sugar etc). Before she left for the night she requested they give my father something for the pain (pancreatitis) and they gave him a dose of morphine. As soon as she left his stats started dropping quickly. His o2 saturation was at 33 and pulse had dropped to 67. The nurse came in checked on him and was going to clean him up cause he had soiled himself. I accepted as did my sister that it was close (not realizing the morphine could be the cause) and when they moved him around it woke him up enough to pick up all his sats. I called my step mom and told her what happened and she came back to the hospital. We waited a whole 7 hours with no change he was very sedated and non responsive from the drugs but stats were fine and showing no signs of discomfort or pain. The nurse had told me too that she thought it was the morphine that sent him over the edge. So after 7 hours of nothing...my step mom talked to the nurse even though my dad was having no pain and asked for more morphine. She also told the nurse not to treat his sugar that was getting dangerously low. She didn't even let the nurse take it but, when the nurse left she took it and it was 68. I explained how I was very uncomfortable with giving him more pain meds and not treating the sugar but was ignored. She started talking about taking him off his regular oxygen mask too and I was very much against it so she did not. This was about 2am when the first dose of pain meds was given (with no sign of pain) somehow an hour later when more family arrived he woke up and started talking to everyone and was awake and alert for about 10 min and my step mom after that ordered MORE morphine "for pain" that he wasn't having (he also had just had a dose an hour before) that was about 4am his breathing started to get slower after that but he was relaxed. The nurse kept coming in and asking my step mom if she was ready for "that" twice...finally about 530 am my step mom said yes. I immediatley said WHAT IS THAT! and she said oh, your dad is getting a little anxious so its some anti anxitey meds. ( still he was not moving, moaning, his stats were not showing a sign of pain, he was not gasping for air just breathing very slow) he passed an hour later. I need answers! I truly feel that this was not ethical nor legal.

  • Woman facial hair loss from salicylic acid acne products?

I am a 26 year old woman recently suffering from acne. (I've had clear skin my whole life until about 6 months ago) I have had some major stressful changes occur in my life recently which I'm sure doesn't help. (a separation, foreclosure, moving, I have two small children, going from stay at home mom to working mom and being broke and, uninsured!!) I know my stress level is up but I just can't shake the feeling that there is something crazy going on with my body. I eat mostly organic, no sweets, tons of veggies and fruits only water. I'm a healthy 120 lbs and 5 ft 3 in tall. Recently I've noticed the hair around my hair line falling out a little and last week after using a neutrogena salicylic acid lotion the little hairs on my face are coming out. (not that it's a bad thing lol) but, I don't think it's normal. I can't find anything on the internet about it??? ANYWHERE?? I also noticed a couple of eyebrows falling out. (not a whole lot and it might just be that I've been spending a ton of time too close to the mirror checking my skin) Anyone have anything like this happen before? I'm figuring it might be hormonal? Acne/mild hair loss, some dark hair growin in odd places?? But, I'd love an opinion.

    Thanks

  • Could my stitched wound on my thumb be infected?

I cut my right thumb pretty deep last monday opening a can. I had to get 5 stitches and it's stayed pretty painful all week. I didn't realize how much you used you thumb when you moved your hand LOL. Anyway.....it is still hurting. Less than it did in the beginning but I almost feel like every time I over stretch my thumb it hurts again. Just today I noticed it a little red around the stitches.....I don't think it has puss? I don't really know what that would look like....where it is healing it looks a little clearish yellow but it's not liquidy (sorry tmi) it's just like healing juice or something. (but it's solid). My thumb is still a little swollen too. I just figured I use it a lot that it was going to take longer to heal......but I don't want to get an infection or anything. I was letting it "air out" but, I just re cleaned it and put a bandaid (w/neosporin) back on it....should I go back to the er or will it be fine??

  • Need your opinion on the slogan/saying I came up with for my boutique business ;)?

I am a swahm....trying to start my own business. I have sold on ebay and cl for a while but I want to get a little more busy and start branching out to local boutiques in my area. Anyway I specialize in creating childrens accessories (crochet hats, hair flowers, flip flops, tutus, bows etc) and my name is Gigglegum Designs. I'm trying to come up with a banner and logo for my etsy site and after playing around a bit I got "Some things in life are sweeter than candy!" My idea is everything I create will be packaged and sold as if it came right out of the candy store. In candy bags etc. So does that sound ok? Does it go?

    Thanks :)

  • To spray paint or not to spray paint that is the question?

I just bought this great old unfinished dresser off craigslist that I want to use as a console for our new flat panel tv. I'm so sick of painting.......we just moved into our house and I'm about painted out. I've painted cabinets, walls, dresser, night stand, chandelier etc. Anyway, will it not come out right if I spray prime and paint it?? and if I have to paint it with a brush/sponge roller can I spray prime it? I just know it will be faster and I'm soooo SICK OF THE PAINTING already. :) Your help is much appreciated.

  • Are my husbands expectations as unreasonable as I think they are?

So my husband and I got into it today yet again over the he does she does who does more stuff and I told him I was going to post a question to let him see that I AM A NORMAL WIFE! He ofcourse implies that my job in the home is miniscule compared to his job outside the home (although I am extremely grateful for being able to do so) but, it is my choice. I love doing it and try to do it to the best of my ability...cooking well, cleaning naturally, educating and entertaining my kids all day, I even do my own car/home repairs as often as I can. And, the list goes on! However, he insists that because I don't either scratch his back till he falls asleep EVERY NIGHT or massage him when he gets home from work (I wouldnt mind every once in a while) that I'm not a good wife...(well he implies). So wives am I being unreasonable? I'd love to know what other wives do (working or stay at home) I'd love to settle this once and for all and if I'm not doing all I should be I'd love to start.

  • The bank that owned the foreclosed property we were buying filed for bankruptcy?

We are in the process of buying our first home and went through the whole negotiation process with the bank and finally verbally were told our offer was accepted by the bank by their listing agent we then submitted our final contract and then found out they were filing for ch 11 bankruptcy (Resmae is the company). The new bank has bought them out (citadel group) and I know the bank has approved everything (re:the bankruptcy). So my question is it's been 2 weeks and we still haven't heard anything. Our agent is calling everday and the banks listing agent has no answer about our contract. It has to be sold to someone eventually.......how long could this take?

  • What happens if a previous owner files bankruptcy while I am in the process of buying thier "bank owned" prop?

We are in the final process of buying our first home. It is a bank owned property and so far.....it's been a big test of our patience. Anyway, we are due to close in 6 days and we get a call today from our agent saying the banks listing agent just called and said that the previous owners of the property are filing for bankruptcy. And, per her.....nobody knows what that means for the purchase. Not our loan officers, our agent or the listing agent. So they are in trying to get in contact with the bank but, I was hoping someone knew the answer. I pray it's nothing and everything will continue forward.....so does anyone have any expierience with a situation like this?

  • Can a listing agent fake another offer to get us to bid higher?

My husband and I are buying our first home and we found a perfect one foreclosed and put our offer in a couple weeks ago. It's been taking the bank on average 1 week to respond to both our offer and counteroffer. Then when they were just about to respond to our 2nd offer the listing agent for the bank called my realtor and said that someone has just put in an offer (lower than ours) on the house. They were so slow in responding to us and all of a sudden they "know another offer even exists". Anyway the house has been on the market 90 days and no one has offered to buy it until us. (I say it was meant to be and it's "the house"). So I just think it's a little fishy and wondered if it's possible they are just trying to see how much money they can squeeze out of us? The listing agent said to put our best offer forward and the bank would chose the best one. So we went up about 3500$ from our previous counter and are waiting to see what the bank says. So can they fake a second offer??
