I have an HP dv1000 laptop. I have recently replaced it, but my boyfriend would like to have it. I am getting a really QUICK flash of the blue screen of death, (so I cannot read the exact error,) then it quickly goes to the page that is giving me the option to start in safe mode, regular start and other options. Every one I click, brings me back to the quick flash of the blue screen then loops back to the safe mode page again. Is it possible to get the information off of the computer, before I do a full wipe of the system with a restore disk? This information is so important to me, and I did have a back up on a thumb drive, but cannot find it either. :( I am a wreck thinking I could have lost it all. Please give me the ideas you have, if any, and hopefully someone here can tell me what to do to at least save SOME of my information. Thanks so much!
