  • CD and DVD stopped working, help!?

    I have a Mitsumi cr-48xcte and an IDE DVD-ROM 16X on an AMD Athlon XP 1800+ running Windows XP.

    When I try to use either drive I get "Wrong disk inserted" or "No disk inserted". I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers to no effect, anyone got any ideas?

    I saw this on a TV history prgramme some time ago but can't remember the details. Failing that who's the TV historian who wears a black leather jacket and sunglasses, looks a bit like Melvyn Bragg.
