Types of Chemical Bonds Experiment?
I did the experiment and found that sucrose and sodium chloride are soluble in water and stearic acid is soluble in ethanol. I'm supposed to use my knowledge of the types of bonds to explain why the compounds were soluble in their respective solutions but I'm super confused. I know sucrose and stearic acid are covalent bonds while sodium chloride is an ionic bond. But I think I'm confused since both an ionic and covalent bond were soluble in water and stearic acid is a covalent bond but it was the only one soluble in ethanol. So yeah, basically any help at understanding and explaining this would be appreciated.

1 AnswerBiology8 years agoOsmosis lab questions?
Cells contains 85% water, 15% solute. Surrounding environment contains 70% water, 30% solute. According to the principles of osmosis, will water in this situation move into the cell or out of the cell? Is the solution in the surrounding environment hypotonic or hypertonic to the protoplasm of the cell?
2 AnswersBiology8 years agoIs it okay to include a list of items we need in our baby shower invites?
I've never had a real baby shower and there's not too much we need for this baby, so I don't want people to buy a bunch of the things we already have. Would it be rude or impolite to include a list of the items we still need in with the shower invitations? I would just enclose the registry cards, but I wasn't able to add some of the stuff we need to the registry because it doesn't show up online at WalMart.

This story is crazy! I understand that his job and/or the laws require him to check his cab after a fare, but if he's at fault, shouldn't the parents be at fault too? How do both parents forget about the child?

6 AnswersHobbies & Crafts1 decade agoUnemployment & appeals?
In February, I filed for unemployment. After a month & a half, they finally approved me for benefits. Now another month & a half later, my previous employer has filed an appeal. The hearing is not for another 2 weeks and then 2 more weeks to get a decision. Will I continue to receive my benefits during that time or will they stop until a decision has been made? If they stop and I win this appeal, will the benefits be back-paid?

1 AnswerLaw & Ethics1 decade agoQuestion about the name "Natalie" & it's meaning?
We are having a baby in September/October of this year. We haven't found out what it is yet, but we've been discussing names. We already have a boy name, but it's the girl name that's giving us trouble. My husband and my 3 year old daughter both want to name the baby, Natalie, if it's a girl. I like the name and it goes well with the middle name we have picked out. My only problem is the meaning of the name. It means "born on Christmas." I think it's a little weird to give a baby a name meaning "born on Christmas" when it's born nowhere near Christmas. What do you think? Have you used a name even though you didn't necessarily agree with or like the meaning? Opinions appreciated.
