Question about Australian immigration?
I am an American citizen, and I am an Australian permanent resident. I became a resident before the law changed and if I apply for the citizenship before 2010, I only should have lived in Australia for two years do be able to satisfy the physical presence.
Now, I am currently not in Australia but would still like to become an Australian citizen.
At the same time I do not want to loose my residency and want to convert it into citizenship. As, I do plan to move to Australia one day.
Now unlike the US, when living Australia they stamp your passport, at least at the airport they do. This is how they find out when you apply for citizenship, of how much time you have spent in the Australia.
What can I do to become an Australian Citizen? Do they always, stamp your passport when you leave australia, or do they only do it at the airport?
I do not want to break any laws but do what to find out a way around it? Please Help.

6 AnswersLaw Enforcement & Police1 decade agoWant federal law enforcement job but ticket on record?
I was in england, going to school. Got into a stupid fight at a gas station. I was purely acting in self defense.
Called the cops, but also was taken into custody. The cops said I should have walked away, as I had a chance.
Based on that I was taken into custody, taken to the station, booked, given a ticket/fine and released. However, that ticket will be on my record in England, not sure for how long.
The ticket was for "causing harrasment and alarm to public due to my words and behaviour".
No further action was needed other than paying the fine, which I did. No court hearing, no conviction, nothing else. That was the end of it.
This is the one and only trouble with the law in my entire life. One stand alone incident, of course have had speeding tickets. But no warrents or anything.
I want to apply for a federal law enforcement job, with ICE, CBP, FBI and so forth.
Would this ticket disqualify me from getting in? Or would this be a problem for me in any way?

I am almost done with my Masters Degree in International Relations. And am very interested in getting a Federal job. I have never been a federal employee and I do not have any prior experience in the field. I have been looking on USAJOBS.com and had no luck.
Can anyone tell me where to start looking for entery Level positions with the federal Govt?
and does anyone know of any agencies that help find jobs for people with specifically IR or related degrees?
