  • where to stay in downtown seattle with no car?

After arriving back in Anacortes from the San Juan Islands, we want to spend one night in Seattle before flying out the next day. What specific area might we get a hotel room in to be able to walk around and site see? The airporter shuttle seems to dump people near the convention center and near the amtrak station. Are either of those good areas to find nearby lodging?

  • Found an old poster of Joan Miro's Personnage et Oiseaux but different than the usual. What is this?

This is the same print as if you google the above, only he has painted his name very large. Joan goes across the top and Miro is spelled down the right. HIs name appears in place of the black and white abstract shapes that are on the original work. I can't find one like it online. Just trying to figure out what this is. It's from an estate sale of an art collector. Seems to be a poster though.

  • Two loud booms middle of last night in Los Angeles?

I see that people ask questions about loud (sounded like a sonic) boom in the middle of night fairly often and all over the country. Just wondering if anyone else heard two in the middle of the night in the Los Angeles area. Northeast LA--Eagle Rock, Highland or Glassell Park to be more specific.

  • what is this leaf cocooned worm doing on my wall?

I just found what I thought was a dried small grayish leaf on my wall. It wasn't surprising because there is a bouquet of dried flowers nearby. It was about 2/3's an inch long, 1/3 inch wide and tapered at both ends. It was a bit spotty in color. As I was looking at it, it started to crawl slowly, and then I noticed a little brown wormy thing sticking it's head out of one end. Not a gross wet worm but more like a catepillar or centipede, withc visible segments. I scooped it up and turns out it can stick it's head out of either end. Almost cute, yet creepy, so I threw it into the garden. What the heck is this?

  • what in the heck is af or A/F?

Please define what A/F stands for. I gather that it refers to starting your period.

  • icy hot sensation in uterus?

For those who have felt implantation of pregnancy, did anyone feel it as an icy-hot sensation? It feels a bit like ovulation cramping/burning but is 8 days post-ovulation (and possible fertilization :-))

  • Really effective eye gel or cream?

I've tried dozen types of eye products to minimize lines, puffiness and circles. The ones I'm most impressed with are gels that create a tight coating over your skin. Once it dries, your skin feels like satin and the lines aren't as visible when you smile. Can't remember what brands those are though. Anyone know of one that has this effect?

  • Q for lesbians/bi women: Oops I was wrong? Well, now I know.?

This came up in recent conversation. Have you ever known a woman to really truly come to the realization that she is attracted to and wants to date women, try it out, and then realize it's not for her and go happily back to being with men?

It seems like no one knows any such cases to me, so I'm throwing it out to a larger audience. So I'm talking only about women who have a history of dating males but deep down are interested in women and then take the plunge. I'm not talking about girls who agree to threesomes or make out with other girls on occasion, usually while others are watching, nor am I talking about true bisexuals that go back and forth in dating. I'm only interested in those that have a run with women and learn it's not for them. Please provide a specific example/story, or it won't be that helpful. Thanks!

  • New construction townhome not done by escrow close date? Buyer ever have right to cancel and get deposit back?

I'm under contract on a townhouse for investment property in Texas, and escrow close was scheduled for Aug 1. Completion has been pushed back at least until Aug. 21. The property management (which is paid through assn. fees) neglected to lease it for fall, although it was built primarily for students. Now I am awaiting closing on a townhome that is virtually unleasable until at least Jan 1.

Questions are: How long can completion go beyond scheduled escrow close date before buyer gets the right to back out and not lose earnest money? Does this have to be explicitly stated in the contract? Would I have to add a contingency and do I have a right to do so as a buyer?

  • How do you sing the Friends theme????

Sing the "I'll be there for you.." chorus part outloud now....

Okay, there is a low part and a high part being sung in the original. Which one do YOU sing? If you sing the low part, then the word for is lower than the word there. If you sing the hight part, the word for is higher than the word there. Say low part or high part. WHY? Well because I've been having a debate for years with someone who claims that no one sings the high part and the song "goes" by the low part. I think people do both or high more....this is my unscientific survey!
