97 chevy blazer when you put it in gear it does nothing won't even try to move. fluid is full, clean and doesn't smell burnt. sometimes when you turn the key on there is no power to the dash and the voltage bottoms out discharge. I'm wondering if there is something electrical that can cause the transmission to not even try to engage in any gear.

when you 1st start the engine it will run for a few seconds and die but will start right back up. it will go thru this scenerio 4 or 5 times and then it seems to run okay and drives down the road just fine. while warmed up it will restart just fine but after sitting 3 or 4 hrs the problem returns. I replaced the fuel filter. cleaned and installed new gaskets in the TBI unit, rebuilt the pressure regulator,(had broken spring) new pcv valve, Egr valve checks good(vacum) is opening and closing. when it dies it's like you just turned the key off. van had tune up a couple months ago, new wires,cap, rotor ,and plugs and problem showed up for the 1st time Monday morning. The ecm is not showing any fault codes. hopefully someone's had this issue and knows what will fix it. Thanks

Have heard that they must have their park lights on and have heard they can sit in the dark. Seems to me it would be unsafe to sit parked along the interstate after dark with your lights out.
