  • Is funny/sexy his n hers underwear ok for a gag holiday party gift?

This year for the third year in a row a bunch of friends are getting together yo celebrate Christmas. We are always asked to bring a "FUN gift costing no more than $20." Last year my hubby and I were conservative and brought an electric bottle opener and a very cheap bottle of cheap 'wine' (Boone's or something, to be funny) But it was one of the more serious gifts. This year I found some funny his n' hers Santa undies that I was thinking of getting, but I don't know if that is too inappropriate. Thoughts?

  • My married sister is having an affair with a woman..?

My sister has been married for almost 20 years and has 4 children ranging in age from 17 to a baby. Now she suddenly is having an affair with her best friend, another woman who is also married to a man, and says she is thinking of divorcing her husband and moving her girlfriend in. (after only 5 weeks of the affair) My sister talks about all of this as though it is no big deal and everyone will be fine, but my mom and I are heartsick because my brother-in-law is a great guy and we love him as though he were my real brother. And we just know her kids will be devastated. We feel like our family is falling apart. Anyone been through anything like this? Have any advice?

  • What do you think of chocolate brown carpet for a theater room/bar?

We're remodeling and going dark, even though I know the majority of people like light and bright. :-) We are considering chocolate brown carpet in the media room. It is a shared space, serving also as a bar, which has slate tile and cosmos brown granite. Thoughts?

  • Does your baby 'sleepwalk?'?

Last night my 10 month old woke up two hours after putting him down (very strange for him) and seemed not to be himself. He appeared to be awake, but his movements were very jerky compared to normal and he wouldn't focus on me or make eye contact with me at all. It was quite scary. I almost took him to the ER, afraid that he was having a seizure or something! But 5 minutes later he "woke up" in front of my eyes and started acting like his normal self again. I am having him checked at the doctor today to be sure, but I think he was 'sleepwalking.' Anyone else have a baby who did/does this??

  • Tips for using metallic paint?

I am planning to paint the ceiling of our newly built home theater/bar with Valspar Earth Elements Brilliant Metals paint in Honeyed Bronze.

To save $$ ($2000 to be exact!!!) we are doing the painting in our new addition ourselves.

Does anyone have experience using metallic paint? Any tips?

  • Finishing basement - need decorating advice!?

We are finishing our basement and I am overwhelmed with choices! lol I am hoping some of you can provide inspiration. :-)

1/2 of the room is a large bar stained a "cherry chocolate glaze" color with a black granite counter top. It sits on slate tile. The rest of the room is a 'theater' area of sorts and has dark brown carpet (matched the slate we have the best and will hide all of the spills my baby, toddler and dog have!)

    SO, my questions are:

1.) What color should I paint the walls?

2.) What color should I paint the trim?

3.) We are texturing the ceilings and leaving them white in the other rooms in the basement, should I do that in this space as well?

4.) What color furniture should I choose? (We are thinking of putting 1 large sectional)

    Thanks for your input!

  • How many Aidens, Owens & Logans do you know??

We are still trying to decide on a first name for our soon to be born baby should it be a boy and have considered each of these names. I was leaning towards Logan, while my hubby was leaning towards Aiden. I said Aiden is just too popular. Meanwhile my sister said her son has 2 Logans in his class and she knows several more as well, but that in 14 years of having children in the school system and many extracurricular activities she has never met an Aiden (even though we know this is supposedly a very popular name) ??

SO, to all of you with children .. how many of each do you know??

  • Narrowing down our names list and need your help!!?

OK, we have finally narrowed down the field on our search for the perfect name for baby #2 due in 11 weeks.

For a girl we have decided on the name Emerson, but would like your vote as to the following middle name combos:

    Emerson Avery

    Emerson Delaney

    Emerson Parker

    Emerson Alaina

    Emerson Riley

    Emerson Abigail

For a boy we know we want to carry on my husband's unique family middle name but need help selecting a first name.

    Gannon Onzelo

    Owen Onzelo

    Preston Onzelo

    Grady Onzelo

    Logan Onzelo

    Parker Onzelo

Please rank these lists in order of your favs. Alternate suggestions welcome as well.

For reference our last name is a one-syllable name beginning with S (like "Smith") and our DD's name is Ainsley Elizabeth.

    Thanks in advance! :-)

  • Middle name for female Emerson & first name for boy??

I am expecting baby #2 in October and hubby and I are still undecided about names. We don't know the sex of the baby, so we need both a boy's name and a girl's name.

For a girl we like Emerson, but need a middle name. (last name one syllable beginning with "S", like "Smith.")

For a boy we are uncertain, but hubby has a unique family middle name which he feels we should carry on. So we need a first name to go with "Onzelo".

We do not like overly common names, and tend to lean towards names of Gaelic/Celtic/Scottish descent.

For reference, our DD's name is Ainsley.

    Thanks for your help!

  • Need help selecting baby names please!?

I am 21 weeks pregnant, do not know the gender of the baby, and having trouble agreeing with hubby on any names! Give me your opinions on these, suggest any middle names that come to you and share your suggestions for other names along these lines, please. (somewhat different, not too bizarre, not overly popular)

    Thanks!

oh..and I should mention we have a short, one-syllable last name, so longer first/middle names work better for us.

    Girl names:

    Emerson

Addison (I know this has gotten quite popular lately)

    Piper

    Skylar

    Bevin

    Blaine

    Boys:

    Gannon

    Logan

    Tiernan

    Holden

    Parker

    Owen
