Beginning to take a Finance 300-level class. The math is very easy, but I get tripped up on WHICH equation to use and when. We're only in our second week, and have gone over about 10 different equations for finding different things from balance sheets, income statements as well as equity statements and free cash flow.

It's so early in the semester, and I'm already beginning to stress about the first test.

Anyone who has been through the course and done well, or is a finance major, what I can do to better prepare myself? And how did you keep all those different equations straight in your head come test time?

I'll be 32 when I graduate with a bachelors in Business Administration with an emphasis in HR. I went that route because strategic HR is interesting to me, and the overall business degree is very pliable to many different fields. I have a GPA of 3.0, nothing impressive.

In your opinion, do you believe it will be a more difficult to find my first job than a 22 year old graduate? I have work experience, some retail management, but nothing directly related to my field of study or where I want to go with it.

We bought a treadmill for $1000. It said it had an incline of 15. Turns out, it's 15 "levels", not 15 inches.

Would it be safe to prop up the front of the treadmill to gain more inclined inches? Anybody know of anyone doing this?

We have a 2000 grand Cherokee sitting in our drive way. The battery went dead, so I jumped it. Let it run for 30 minutes and then turned it off. Tried to start it again a few hours later and the battery seemed dead. I tried to jump it again and the jumper cables melted! Bought a new battery and now it cranks, but won't quite start.

Please help. I have solved the other problems on my own, but this one is confusing to me because the answer should be 2 parts. Like.. ________=________

I'm 5'10 and 220 lbs. I've ready reports that the 883 low feels too small to some people. I have an opportunity to check one out this weekend, but it's a few hours drive to the person selling it. I was looking for some opinion before I made the trek out there, or just went with a Honda Shadow 750 or Suzuki M50 that is in the same price range for me ($4500 max).

I'm going to buy my first bike in a week or two. I've ridden and like both the Sportster and Shadow. They're both fun to ride to a beginner. My budget is $5000, and I can't decide whether I should get a low mileage Shadow 750, in the range of a few thousand miles or less, or a Harley a Sportster 883 with around 10K miles on it. Both run well, but in the long term the Shadow seems better. But I like the looks and sound of the Harley more.

I'm looking for unbiased opinions here (as best as they can be), as I don't have brand loyalty to either. Harley's track record for quality seems spotty from what I've read. Some say they will last forever, some are of the opinion that it won't even make it home from the store.

As the title states. I'm interested in purchasing a used Honda Shadow 750. I'm not looking to get anything older than a 2005, and I was wondering if there are any vibration issues at highway speeds?

I've been honing my Texas Hold'em skills. While I don't believe I'm gearing towards WSOP anytime soon, I believe I could win a few bucks playing online. I'm in the US, and Poker Stars and Full Tilt seem to be to most commonly recommended sites. I don't plan to go in and play for huge pots. Which would be better suited to me, based on your opinion?

we picked up a free lab-mix puppy today. it's been home for six hours or so and it has had zero energy. we throw balls past her, and she barely moves to chase them. she just wants to lay down a sleep. when we take her outside, so runs into a corner near our porch and doesn't want to leave it.

additionally, her nose is very dry and she was the runt of the pups. any advice on what the issue may be?

I want to go to Law School. but I'm having trouble deciding on a major for my bachelors. accounting seems reasonable, as a lawyer, you would run into circumstances where knowledge in accounting would be helpful. and it would be a degree that serves as a career itself if law fell through somehow.

on the other hand, I've read that having an English major is a regular major for pre-law as well.

if you have any experience with law schools, or know someone who has, please help get me some insight here. thanks.

looking to get back into the paintball game. more of a casual player, but I don't want to rent equipment. I was looking at the Tippman 98, US Army Alpha w/E-Grip, and WGP Synergy Equilizer. any recommendations would be gladly appreciated.

I want to go to law school. I was curious if Criminal Justice would be a good pre-law degree to get? or would another field be better geared at getting into a law school?

I bought a used 94 Saturn SL1. one day, someone knocked the mirror off while I was in a store. apparently, it had already been broken off and someone used some kind of epoxy to put it back on.

I put on some quick steel and that worked until someone knocked it off while I was at school, again.

I've tried using quick steel about three more times, but it keeps falling off when someone gets out of the car and slams the door shut. I knock off all of the old epoxy everytime I apply another, and that doesn't seem to make a difference.

what can I do for a more permanent repair? at this point I'm considering just wrapping the thing in a ton of duct tape just so it isn't hanging there anymore to attract the attention of the local PD.

trying to figure out when I can create one for myself and some friends. but I can't get an clear, or foggy dates. I would assume it's sometime near the beginning of the season. but when?
