I have an AT&T U-verse router/modem setup whatever. Every minute or so (occasionally every ten seconds or so) the internet will just drop from my computer. It has happened on two different computers (both HP laptops, one I've had for years, and a newer one), and occasionally happens on the desktop (Dell) it's immediately connected to. It happens on my iPhone occasionally as well.

For whatever reason, while I am steaming (LoL, WoW, GW2, etc.) it's totally fine; just not when I'm on YouTube watching videos/web browsing. It's INCREDIBLY annoying.

I've got an HP desktop shipping to me right now. Is the problem the router/modem shizzle, or is it that HP has bad wifi cards (or whatever tat it is)? It would be a major inconvenience to run an Ethernet cord to my room from the computer room as it would span a hallway.

Model number for the modem is NVG510.

Windows 8 honestly isn't a problem for me - I've tried and liked it. I'm more at home with Windows 7. In the 1360, I can afford to upgrade the hard drive to 2tb 7200rpm and have a bit of cash left over. The other one is pretty much perfect otherwise (after upgrading the PSU to 600w, which is decently priced).

I guess really the only question comes down to two things:

The CPU and the OS.

I heard that Windows 7 won't be getting DirectX 11, and that 8 uses less CPU. Is this true/important enough to bother with?

Also, the 1440t has a 2nd gen i7-3820 in it, and cpubenchmark.net says this is a bit slower (around 200pts) than the 3rd gen i7-3770. Can someone please explain the difference between these two processors, their power, if it will make a difference, etc?

I bought HP's dv7t-7200 model for Christmas (for light-medium gaming/youtube). I thought that the portability would be nice, but I really can't take it anywhere I can use it for what I've purchased it for, and have decided that I'd rather like a desktop instead. I've somehow managed to get a cracked screen, after deciding I'd like to return it. It was delivered 16 days ago (the returns policy has a 21-day limit). Would they accept this? I'd hate to have to keep this laptop that I don't want anymore because of a tiny crack that doesn't even properly fill the area of a quarter. Any information/help would be greatly appreciated.

I had my heart set on the HP laptop, but it's out of stock and I don't know when it will become available again. I prefer Windows 7 over Windows 8, as I will be doing some gaming on it (League of Legends, Minecraft, Skyrim, probably some WoW and in-browser games) and I've heard that some games crash often and won't even start up most of the time. I'll be doing basic student stuff on it, as well as tons of YouTube. Windows 8 is pre-installed on the Dell, so I can't upgrade to Pro to revert to Windows 7.

Also, how cheap could I get Windows 7 if I'm not able to get the HP? Will it detract from my Dell if I install 7 over 8? Would my HP recovery discs from my current laptop be compatible with the Dell; and would they even work?

(I've heard bad things about the Green, but 750GB is all I need, I think. It's also a bit cheaper. And also, what does the 6.0Gb/s and 3.0Gb/s mean? Which would you recommend?)

Everything here is from newegg.com. I'm trying to stay within an $800 budget, so if something is bad, I can't afford to upgrade it to the best - just something that will hold up until I can replace it later if need be.

Okay, so recently my computer has been acting really weird. Most lowercase letters will do something while I'm typing. d minimizes pages that I have open and also opens them back up, e opens computer, f opens a search window, l locks my computer, m minimizes pages that I have open, n opens MS onenote, p gives external monitor options, r opens run, s opens select, t toggles icons in the task bar, u opens ease of access center, x opens mobility center. When I press l and it locks, I can click switch user and I opens the same page, and it's fine after that. It usually starts when I wait a few minutes after I unlock it, or when I open WoW. Is it a virus? I scanned it with norton and it said I only had a cookie. It's really frustrating because I just got WoW and I can't do anything with it acting up. Its is still downloading. It has about 5GB of data to download still. Is it that?

I haven't used it, and I haven't scratched off the sticker for the PIN Number.

I can't find where to change the brush into a smaller one.

Hey, guys. I want to get an iPhone4 for my birthday. It's only a couple hundred bucks, but the plan for a smart phone will obliterate my wallet. ;) Therefore, I thought, I'll get an unlocked one! I went to eBay, typed in "Unlocked iPhone4" and clicked search. Then I saw that the cheapest one available was $900. And was jail-broken, which I don't want. So I googled for unlock codes and found a site for them. All I need to know now is if I'll have to pay for the contract, if I in fact have to sign one. I have an unlocked phone now, a LG Xenon, and I prefer the pre-paid minute plans. Any answers are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hey, guys! I Googled, Binged, Ask.comed and I can't figure it out! I'm a Draenei Shaman, and in Battlegrounds (Arathi Basin, mostly) I get killed because there are no strategic hiding places like in Warsong Gulch! (i.e. The roof behind the brick wall, Alliance, or the large lumber, Horde. And many others, those are just more popular) Anyway, I tried glitching to the roof of the stables (lying down), but those darn hunters got me, haha! I was just wondering if there was a place or... five I could hide and ambush without being seen (other than where you start before the Gates to Arathi Basin open up), preferably close to the Stables. And I use my Healing Stream totem to get more Honor because God forbid I hit someone without a fricking heifer using Fear on me, then killing me. I want the Grand Marshall's Staff BAD, and even though I'm puny level 36, my friend (who has it) told me that I need to start saving now. Arathi, which is, right now, my favorite BG, has the most Honor at my level (around 200-300 for a loss, if I had my Healing Stream totem out, and around 500-700 is we win, 700 being if I had my totem out.) plus it gives more XP because we can steal and plant more flags than WSG.

So, smart players of WoW, help a Draenei out and answer me!

My computer crashed, by itself, no virus, and long story short, it wiped EVERYTHING off 0f it. I haven't written anything on it, and I had about five stories with about thirteen pages on each. I can't remember one WORD of any of it, or the ideas. Please comment on this if you have an idea that isn't overdone, like: Aliens coming to Earth, a boy/girl and their first day at a new high-school. Ideas are greatly appreciated!

Okay, this is a VERY common question among my age group. (I am thirteen.) I absolutely love the concept of being an architect, because I love the use of math in in building things. I am truly inspired by the Greeks, and the way they figured it out. If I go Architect, I would like to minor in some sort of History class that has something to do with the Greeks.

I want to be a doctor, too. Saving people would be an ideal job for me, because I love people. I also like that a mixture of plants and other things can help people. (Old medicine, not new.) And the chemicals and other components mixed, that can help people, is fascinating. I know that anything I take in College is going to take a LOT of studying and memorizing, especially medicine, so don't tell me I'm getting ahead of myself.

I would also like to be a surgeon. Removing harmful things from people, or even putting something new and helpful in is astounding. I don't know as much about surgery as much as architecture and medicine, but I know it helps people. I also know that if, by a chance, I cut too far, I could kill someone. So don't nag me about that, either.

Any kind of insight from an architect, doctor, or surgeon would be fantastic. Thanks. :)

Okay, so my WoW account was hacked. When I got on... My character was gone. There was a level one Ogre Rogue, but did Blizzard create it? It was on a separate server from mine, and I heard hackers try to hide new characters to avoid being caught. Please help me. I'm really worried that my Mage won't come back.

Only answer seriously; no put-downs against mages, people. If you don't like them, don't make them. I need help!

It does this all the time, so I put my password back in. It logged in okay. My character list came up... MY MAGE WAS GONE! I got off, stunned, and got back on. It logged in perfectly again. SAME THING! I got off AGAIN and on AGAIN and went to sign in, then... It said: The information you have entered is not valid. Blah blah blah, usual stuff.

I looked and everything was fine: CAPS was off, Numlock was on, and I typed it in letter by letter. I changed it and everything and signed in. Nothing. So. I did the only thing left to do... Made another Mage. (*SIGH!*)

I tried to tell one of my WoW buds that someone hacked me (that's what I thought, since my password changed) and added him as friend, as he was lvl 22 in Westfall, so I CLEARLY couldn't go there. I wisped him, "Hey. I guess I was hacked because my pass was changed and my character was deleted... sigh" but it said: Your mail and chat privileges have currently been suspended pending Game Master review.

When I saw Game Master, my jaw dropped. I knew someone must have reported me then. If everything goes good, and everything is better, will I get my lvl 16 Human Mage back?!?!?!
