  • Looking for a warm spot for Canadian snowbird.?

I am looking to rent a place for next winter in a small town in southern US, Mexico or Caribbean. I would like a small town with most things within walking distance.

A yard or balcony would be nice.

  • What are the certifications of technicians in USA?

In Canada we have government certified four year apprenticeships and interprovincial certification for all trades people.

    Is the US the same?

Does anyone know if they are transferable?

  • Any one have any problems with Acer?

My Acer Aspire has only worked for three months, then broke.

The dealer played with it , but couldn't fix it.

I have sent it back to Acer five times now and the freight is killing me. Each time it hasn't worked an hour.

The last time they changed nothing, I turned it on and before it downloaded the Norton updates it went blue screen.

Acer now says it is off warranty, and won't help.

(They have had it in their system for nine months now.)

I am thoroughly frustrated and am just throwing it away.

I am wondering if it was the only bad one out there.

    Their warranty definetely sucks.

Ps This is my fifth laptop, and I ahve had computers since the DOS days.

  • Help, my new Acer Aspire laptop keeps shutting down!?

It is 1 year old and has been to the factory five times,

and to the dealer that sold it to me several times in the last seven months.

They have replaced the hard drive, the memory and some other boards.

When I get it back it works for a couple hours, then the wireless internet quits.

The comupter then gets slower and slower until it goes "blue screen" and gives the message IRQL_not less or equal.

It then almost starts and then goes blue screen after the desktop shows.

If I use the alt F10 and restore it to original, it starts fine and the whole thing starts again.

I haven't installed any software other than the factory Norton and the Acer downloads.

After working on this for eight months, I am truly sick of this.

    Thanks in advance.
