  • My tummy looks like I'm pregnant!.....?

I was just told, by my physician, that I am going through menopause. This is causing my belly to bloat. I did under go a hysterectomy last year and was left with my ovaries. I was just wondering what I can use for the bloating. My doctor said she will look into it. I can't see how difficult this would be for a doctor to answer. I'm not a doctor....so I have no idea. Do any of you ladies suffer from this bloating feeling as well? A feeling of being full and looking fat!?

  • Canadian old age pension?

I've asked my brother in law, many times, why he hasn't received his Canadian old age pension, as he has reached 65. He told me that he has to 'apply' for it. He then mentioned that he receives his old age pension from England. Can you be Canadian citizen AND continue to receive $ from England?? I

  • Canadian old age pension....?

My brother in law (not my favorite person) comes from England. I've asked my sister several times why he is not getting his oap yet. She said that he has to apply for it. As far as I know..once you hit 65..the pension checks start coming in. I was talking with my sister and she said that 'John' also gets an old age pension from England. How could he collect from Canada and the UK...unless he is not a Canadian citizen? I've always wondered about him. There is something that is not right. What do you think?

  • I have a very strange penny?

As you know Canada has dropped the penny. When I heard they were going to stop minting them, I began to save the ones I had. I also went through some of the ones that were given to be long ago. All of them were canadian but I found one strange penny. On the little bag it's in says..'steel'. What is special about his penny. Aren't all pennies made with copper and have a copper color? Was it made for a special event?

  • Recovery after hysterectomy?

I had a total hyst. on Feb. 5th. Ovaries in tact. I thought I would bounce back in a week or so. I am SO tired still. Doing something as simple as sweeping, laundry...etc; I feel like I have to lie down. I am a single Mom of 2 now and am on sick leave. Is it normal to be so tired or am I just in a hurry to recover????

  • desktop computer vs laptop?

My 12 year old asked me for a desktop computer for Christmas. I'm not much of an expert on computers...really I'm a ditz when it comes to these things. We have a lap top but he keeps going on about a desktop. What's the difference other than the fact that a laptop can be carried about? Ans also is there a great price difference between the two? Thanks....mom of 2 teens.....

  • My daughter wants a camera!!!?

OK...so my daughter wants an 'SLR' camera. The camera she has now is a Canon powers shot with 14.1 megapix. I'm checking out different stores (on line) and I just about fell over when I saw the prices. That's technology for you! What I don't understand is why the SLR camera's have a lower megapix than the smaller cheaper cameras. Remember...all this is greek to me. I was told that the Fuji camera is a good quality camera. This would be the first SLR camera for my daughter so I don't think I want to get anything too complicated.....or so very exspensive. If anybody could give me some advice on this I would appreciate this. Christmas is coming soon and Santa said he couldn't help me out! Thanx......

  • Homemade soap problems!?

I have made simple bars of soap...but the last batches have been horrible. I've been using liquid oils...veggie, canola, wheat etc. I've measured everything perfect. I cannot get the soap to come to a trace. So, very frustrated, I throw it all back in my pot and give it a bit of heat. What I wanted was a nice smooth texture but what I have is a lumpy mess! What am I doing wrong?

  • 12 year old son driving me batty...x-box crazy!?

My 12 year old boy is so stuck on his x-box live system. I regret buying it for him. Really i do! I took it away for 2 weeks and thought that this would do it. I gave it back to him on Friday and he played his whole weekend away. Right into the wee hours! Now it's Monday morning and he's missed his morning classes. Should I take it away for good? I've tried different things but, so it seems, not the right things. The school will have my head! Also..a 12 year old boy is not an easy thing. Is this a stage where they just want to drive mothers round the bend! My son acts like he doesn't even live here and is very distant from me. Please help if you have any ideas to both of my questions! Thanks.....Mom going bonkers!

  • 12 year old male behavior..is this typical?

My son is 12 years old. In the last few months he has become a bit less 'talkative' to me and a bit distant. He LOVES his vid games (had to be cut back) and plays on the football team. He has nice friends and they are good kids. School is not a big love and getting him to go is a bit of a effort. I do remember the feeling of having to get up for school, at a young age...and I hated it. I am worried about him because, at home, he's so quiet and doesn't really say much. At one time..he was quite close to his sister (17). Now he treats her like sh*t. This, of course, causes concern for my daughter. Is this a normal 12 year old boy 'stage'? I love him so much and it really hurts when he is always pulling away from me.

  • Headaches that last for up to 5-6 days!?

I started getting headaches when I was about 8. Not migraines...just headaches. Now I'm getting headaches that can last up to 6 days at a time. My eyes hurt and it feels like I have a vice aound my head. I went to the hospy, in our town, and got a shot in the arm. Made me feel sick but I could just feel everything relax and my headache is gone. I've had to go 3 times in about 1.5 months. The first doc said "Oh...this is a cluster headache...another doctor "A type of migraine" and last night.."Looks like stress headaches". I tend to go with the last doctor. I do have stress in my life......just widowed with 2 children. They gave me a prescription which means taking a pill everynight. I really don't want to do this. Wouldn't it be better to try and deal with the stress rather than medicate? Also 'rebound headaches' were mentioned. I know where my stress is coming from...my 12 year old son is at 'that age' as everybody says. Does anybody have anything 'natural' that would help these headaches?
