How do I deselect multiple radio buttons in JavaScript?
This may be a super easy issue, but my knowledge of JavaScript is very basic so I'm not sure how to even search to find the answer I need.
I have a list of 7 locations as columns and a 5-point list of consideration of location as rows. One of the rows (value=1) is "It is the best location and the only one I would consider". So I have 8 variables:
"Location 1" (q5_a)---[location=1 / value=2,3,4,5]
"Location 2" (q5_b)---[location=2 / value=2,3,4,5]
"Location 3" (q5_c)
"Location 4" (q5_d)
"Location 5" (q5_e)
"Location 6" (q5_f)
"Location 7" (q5_g)---[location=7 / value=2,3,4,5]
"Only Location" (q5_only)---[location=1,2,3,4,5,6,7 / value=1]
What I would like to do is clear all radio buttons (q5_a through q5_g) if an "Only Location" radio button is selected (q5_only) and clear out the "Only Location" button if any of the other radio buttons are clicked. My only experience close to this is clearing text boxes with a radio button and deselecting a radio button when text is entered in the box.
I'm in a bit of a rush, so I'm in "do first and learn the details later" mode. If someone can point me in the direction of a specific resource for figuring this exact problem out, that would be great. No need to provide the code unless you have a burning desire to do so :) Thanks!

Forget that minty mudbath junk! Sign an Executive Order O'Bama!
6 AnswersElections1 decade agoWill Obama redefine 'change' the way he's redefining 'combat troops'?
The 'combat troops' will withdraw from Iraq, but the 'trainers' and 'advisors' will stay behind. But before the 'combat troops' leave, they will be renamed 'trainers' and 'advisors'. Thus, the 'combat troops' will be gone, just like Obama promised on the campaign trail.
If I voted for Obama because I wanted everyone out of Iraq now, I would be steamin' right now. If I voted for McCain because I wanted everyone to stay in Iraq, I would be more steamed than the anti-war crowd. If he's weaseling this much before he even takes office, it is going to be a wild four years.
10 AnswersElections1 decade agoHow will non-Cavs fans spin LeBron's statements into showing he's obviously leaving the Cavs in 2010?
--“The direction we are headed is everything I expected and more.”
He didn't say that he and his limo driver were driving NE - right toward New York. Coincidence? James NYK 2010 FTW baby!
--“(The extension) is a good point. I think me and my group have pretty much made good decisions so far and we’ll look at the options and go from there.”
Yeah, like his NY shoes, his love of the Yankees, Jay-Z being his BFF - the Cavs should at least trade him to the Knicks so they get something for him before he leaves.
--“I definitely want to keep an open mind, I will look at everything,”
See? SEE?!? He's SO going to the Knicks!
--The Cavaliers (22-4) have the second-best record in the NBA.
Second-best? He's the King! And kings want nothing but THE best! How frustrating must it be to The King to be #2. May as well put "Knicks" on that uniform now so people have time to adjust to the change! NYC baby!
Now some will say James has played it safe with his image from day 1 (e.g., no slam dunk contests) and that moving to New York would fly in the face of that philosophy by setting himself up to be a savior expected to win a title every single year. That as long as he stays with the Cavs, he can insure that "he" takes the credit for victory but "the Cavs" takes the blame for defeat. Don't believe it. Look at A-Rod. He signed for big money and no one expected -him- to lead the Yankees to the title from day 1... oh wait.. that Larry Brown with turn around the Knicks immediately given it's his "dream job"... oh, uh... that Santana would be the last piece... umm... that Big Unit...
...are the Raptors and Heat actually winning games these days?
5 AnswersBasketball1 decade agoNow that it has finally come out that one of Obama's top advisors...?
...plays a Tauren in World of Warcraft, shouldn't we make sure that this does not lead to Obama giving the Horde preferential treatment in the future? Up to this point, Obama has been silent as to whether his advisor plays PvE or PvP; I think this is a relevant issue as it speaks to how an Obama administration will treat those less fortunate souls outside of sanctuary areas. Hopefully an Obama administration will resist the temptation to "spread the wealth" and let the Alliance win a battleground or two, but we cannot be sure until he takes office and replaces the current murloc administration.
7 AnswersElections1 decade agoDo people really understand how little power Obama will wield?
Did Bush overturn Roe v. Wade? Did he get a flag burning amendment? Did he ban same-sex marriage at the national level? No, no, and no. The President and Congress were run by the same party for six years and none of agendas that helped get Bush elected in the first place came to pass. What, therefore, makes people think that Obama and the Democrats will have much greater success with agendas that have arguably less public support than Bush's? Yes, government will move center-left, but that lays solely at the feet of the Republican Party. Don't forget: Obama and the Democrats did not win the election - McCain and the Republicans lost it.

I mean, he's like old and stuff. And his name is scary like the mummy. Boo!
27 AnswersElections1 decade agoIs anyone else already sick of "LeBron in 2010" talk?
Please.
Stop.
Yes, he'll be a free agent.
Yes, he's friends with Jay-Z.
Yes, Detroit will now have cap space.
Yes, he wants to be a global icon (because he's apparently not one yet...?).
Yes, [insert any tangential relationship that has occurred between birth and yesterday].
Yes, [insert any "fact" verified by "a source close to James"].
And apparently, Cleveland is the absolute worst place ever on planet earth at any point in history (A source close to James said that Cleveland is why the dinosaurs went extinct).
But is this all anyone is going to talk about from now to then?
Just drop it.
Please.
6 AnswersBasketball1 decade agoIs the future of the Republican party more Sarah Palin or more Ron Paul?
This election looks to me to be a major fork in the road for the RNC. Do they stick with the plan, hope that this cycle was just a turn of bad luck, and use Palin as the model - or do they kick the neocons and social "conservatives" to the curb and bring the party back to more Reagan-esque libertarian conservative principles? There are some conservative talking heads who think Palin will be the savior of the party, that her connection with "Middle America" will lead the party to the promised land. Really? I think this country would be better off with a more grounded form of conservatism than the Bush-Rove model that has, in my opinion, brought them to this point of getting beat down by a pretty weak batch of Democrats. I'm a firm believer in balance - and the Bush-Rove neocon system has thrown balance out the window and turned disagreement into a fatal flaw. I may not be as sold on Obama as some, but the Bush-Rove stranglehold has to come to an end for the good of the party and the good of the country.
7 AnswersElections1 decade agoWhat Cabinet position will Palin's witch doctor get?
I say Secretary of Defense - easier for him to fight witchcraft all over the globe.
