  • NASCAR Fantasy League Question.....?

Anybody have any openings in their Yahoo NASCAR Fantasy League?

If so, would you be willing to send me an invite or guide me in the right direction?

I was in a couple of them last year and am getting kind of a late start this season.

  • OK, NASCAR Nation, isn't it time?

I hate posting this question because I know I'm just encouraging the hate and feeding the trolls, BUT....

Isn't it about time that Daddy Rick step in and pull Tony Jr off of Dale Jr's pit box, at least temporarily to figure out what the %&#@ is going on with the 88 team???

Something isn't working over there. Something is wrong with this "chemistry" between Jr and Jr. Here we are back in 18th in the points again because somebody couldn't get their s**t together YET AGAIN this weekend.

I have always been a huge Tony Jr supporter, but the more I look at it the more I'm beginning to think I am dead-wrong. Dale Jr has never been successful with Tony Jr at the helm. All of the talent and promise that he showed early in his Busch and Cup careers was with Tony Eury Sr on top of his pit box. Jr only has 3 points wins since Tony Jr was put in charge of his team, and only 2 of those were actually with Tony Jr on top of the box.

I know that for me the frustration is starting to set in. This "let's-miss-the-Chase-every-other-year" crap is for the birds. Am I justified, or am I just being overly critical???

  • Just so that I can beat a dead horse here......?

Hello, NASCAR Nation! Long time no see.....

I am sure the questions about Carl's wreck yesterday are getting old, but I am a bit curious to see what Y'all think....

Edwards said something in an interview today and it got me thinking. He said, "I guess if I had it to do over again, I'd just move over and let him go and finish fourth. I wouldn't even try to win -- because you're going to have wrecks like that if you try."

They have a saying in NASCAR, one that DW even said about Kyle Busch last year. The saying goes "Yeah, he's fast, but he ain't hit nothin' yet." Most of us know what this means, but just in case you don't, it just means that the driver has never had a serious accident.

Well, unfortunately yesterday we witnessed Carl Edwards do just that. He hit something, and it was hard and violent. It was the only time he had ever flipped a car in his career. You could see in his eyes and hear in his voice that he was badly shaken and definitely not the same Carl Edwards we are all used to.

So I guess my question is, does this wreck have any lasting impact on Carl, mentally? I know that physically he's one of the toughest competitors on the track, but does this wreck change the way he drives, especially at places like Talladega and Daytona? Does the fear of another violent accident - now that he's been through one - soften him at all, or does he come back tougher and more determined than before?

I wanna know what The Nation thinks....

  • NASCAR NATION!!! (attempt #2)...?

OK, so my first try has been deleted due to my 9th in-a-row "Violation Notice".

Still not seeing how this works........

SO, what are my fellow members of NASCAR NATION doing for the Holiday Season???? Any special plans or trips or the likes?

To stay within the so-called "Community Guidelines":

Who do you think is going to win the "Bud Shootout" on February 7th, 2009? Jeff Gordon? Tony Stewart? Carl Edawards? Kyle Busch? Dale Jr.? Ken Schrader?

    WHO WILL PULL THROUGH????????

We are only 6 weeks, 5 days, and a still unknown number of hours/minutes/seconds from knowing the answer, my fellow NASCAR FREAKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know, despite being "violated" so often, I still love this place!!!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS, MERRY CHRISTMAS, and HAPPY CHRISTMAHANUKWANZICA (or whatever makes you HAPPY) TO Y'ALL!!!!!!!

  • NASCAR Nation.........?

Yes, I already know that this has NOTHING to do with NASCAR, so no need to point out the obvious. I just REALLY like the little "safe haven" of my little NASCAR section.

Did any of my NASCAR Friends happen to catch the Texas Tech - Texas game? I just got home from the game (I live 2 blocks from Jones SBC Stadium) and could NOT believe what I just witnessed! The biggest game EVER in school history! We beat #1 Texas with ONE second left! Say what you will about Coach Mike Leach and his "system", but that was one of the greatest finishes I have ever seen.

I'm sorry for your loss, Superdave (just judging by your new-found avatar...). Texas is my #2 team.

Just to stay within the guidelines of Y/A and keep this NASCAR themed....:

Who will finish better in the Texas race tomorrow? Brad Keselowski or Joey Logano?

Winner to be chosen after the race tomorrow....

Y'all have a GREAT night!!! I'm going to go celebrate now....

  • Anyone know anything about the Mooresville, NC area?

I know that it is the "Graceland" of the NASCAR world, but I have never been there and find myself relocating in the next few weeks. My fiancee was just hired as a Public Relations rep for Hendrick Motorsports on Thursday and we are moving to that area rather quickly. I am a live-sound engineer (concert production) for a living. Are there any sound companies close by, or do I need to be looking more in the Charlotte area. I can't seem to find anything online, so I was wondering if there was anyone from that area who might help....

Any assistance would be much appreciated, as I find myself rather lost and confused these last couple of days....

Thank You in advance, my fellow NASCAR junkies!

  • Could it be REAL?

Just found this wonderful article / rumor and wanted to see what Y'all think about this:

    http://msn.foxsports.com/nascar/story/8027592/As-o...

    Could it be???

Makes sense to me. Tony has STRONG ties with Chevrolet and Haas/CNC is a Hendrick subsidiary. Why not align yourself with the best Chevy team in the sport?

  • If Dale Earnhardt Jr......?

......had a different name, such as Stephen, or Tom, or Greg, or Alex, or......well, anything other than Dale Earnhardt Jr, would he still be considered such a let-down and loser by all of his non-fans???

If this other person had the same personality, etc. - would you still be a fan?

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I couldn't find it. Sorry if I'm just beating a dead horse here.

Just bored and curious, my Friends...........

  • You know, the more I think about this........?

The more I question whether Bobby Labonte will really be the driver of the new #33 RCR car next year. Yahoo! Sports writers are the only ones who are saying Labonte is a lock to drive the car. Even Richard Childress himself is saying Bobby is not coming along for the ride. Let's not forget the last time these Yahoo! "experts" said they had exclusive and irrefutable "insider" information. These are the same guys who said last year when Jr. left DEI that he had also taken Martin Truex Jr with him and that they were going to be driving for JR Motorsports in 2008 - done deal. And exactly how did that work out for our Yahoo! experts? About the same as their fantasy picks every week! Don't get me wrong, Labonte is a great driver and an excellent ambassador for our sport, but what does he really bring to the table here? He would have the Past-Champion's Provisional to get the car in the race for the first 5 weeks, but you know he is about near the end of his career as well.

  • Do you think this kid is the "real deal"?

It's time to sound off on Aric Almirola. He was very impressive with his 8th place finish last week, at Bristol of all places, considering it was his FIRST time in a Cup car. Now he comes from nowhere and qualifies 3rd at Martinsville, one of the trickiest tracks on the schedule. We'll see how this plays out on Sunday, but what do y'all think? Aric Almirola - the next DEI superstar?

  • This is most likely a dumb question........?

Last night at the bar I was working at I saw part of a music video, but the volume was down so I couldn't hear the song. I know it was a 3 Doors Down video and it had Tony Stewart and Dale Jr. racing around in SUVs. Does anyone know what song it is? I would like to download the video.

  • To Chase, or Not To Chase - That Is The Question.?

I want to know - do you like The Chase or not? If so, WHY? If not, WHY NOT?

I am sure this has been asked before, but please bear with me here as I haven't been using this Yahoo! Answers thing for very long.

I have my opinion, but I want to hear yours. I'll gladly tell you what I think after everybody posts. Thanks!

  • I really want to know something........?

BESIDE the fact that they share the same name, why do people constantly compare Dale Jr to his Father. They are NOTHING alike on the race track (except plate races). I personally just think the guy has to live in the enormous shadow his Father cast. NO DISRESPECT INTENDED, but I was not at all a fan of Dale Sr because of his overly-aggressive and sometimes just plain dirty driving tactics. He may have been The Man OFF of the track, but on the track he was The Devil at times. I respect Dale Jr for NOT trying to be his Dad. He is a MOSTLY clean and respectful driver who tries to avoid wrecking others for the sake of a win. I also think it took a LOT of guts to leave DEI and go to Hendrick. I think that Dale Sr would be proud of Jr for trying to make HIS OWN name on HIS OWN terms. Let's not forget that he turned down the opportunity to go drive the RCR #3 car. If he were really trying to be so much like his Dad, that's where he'd be right now.
