Hi, I'm a college student, wannabe writer, and Bills fan. As in Buffalo Bills. I love history and playing video games...in fact, I'm a Nintendo fanboy! http://elminster12.livejournal.com/

  • What do you think of Meghan McCain?(Conservatives especially)?

Meghan McCain has recently called upon conservatives to abandon their opposition to gay marriage, and she has been backed up by her father's former campaign manager, Steve Schmidt, who points out that that is in-line with the idea that government should stay out of people's lives. Is this a good attitude to take, and should it apply to abortion as well?

  • My friend has lung cancer and no money. Where can she get treatment?

If I left her to her own devices, she'd probably just wait to die. But I want her to live. She's only 20. So, is there anything out there?

The artist does some good work. Do you agree with the cartoons message, and why or why not?

  • Why Do People Think The Media Is In The Tank for Obama?

    http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-...

It's not about how much time the candidates get, but what kind of coverage they get. The Center for Media and Public Affairs at George Mason University found that, when reporters and pundits ventured their opinions, only 28% of them were in Obama's favor, whereas 72% were against. By contrast, 43% of opinions given on McCain were positive to 57% that were negative. Huh. What do you have to say to that?

  • Choose Your Historical Figure for President II!?

Vote for one of these people!

    1) Born into a poor family in the countryside, but was able to get a high military post. Deeply religious, heard voices, and may have suffered gender dysphoria. Delivered a city of great significance to a nation and gave it hope in its darkest hour. Was captured, tortured, and eventually executed for an ancient crime. Was acquitted posthumously.

    2) Born into a poor family in a rural area. Self-educated and tall, though suffered from depression. Buried many sons and patriots. Was elected to a high office with little experience, and often dreamed of rowing a boat when things went badly. Came under fire twice but was never in the military.

    3) Brilliant politician who aspired to the highest office of the land many times and never achieved it. He was against states rights before he was for it, and called silence into order. He was venomous and petty, but was a grey patriot through and through.

  • Which Candidate Would You Vote For?

I've picked three historical figures. I shall describe them in broad, general terms, and you pick who you want to vote for.

    1) Served in the army with distinction. Drank heavily and lived with Cherokee Indians for years on end. Was Senator of Tennessee and Governor of that state, before later being a Texas Senator and then a Texas Governor. He was forced to resign from his governorship.

2)Brilliant military general from a small island. Was idealistic in his youth, but became extremely cynical during his young adulthood. Rose to great prominence, but was known to be capricious, impulsive, and extremely impatient. Hated navies, feeling they were unfair and unmanly. Died on a small island as a prisoner of war.

3)Caroused around Europe in his youth, before returning home to reform his country. Wanted to build a great port city and name it after himself, so invaded a neighboring nation and built his city on swampland. Drank heavily, and died after rescuing a drowning man in a river.

  • Is Hillary Out of Time?

The Clinton campaign suffered defeat after defeat after Super Tuesday, and can rightly said to be on life support, hoping for home-runs in every single remaining contest. All that has allowed her to remain in has been the silence of the Democratic leadership. But that is changing, with Howard Dean calling on democratic superdelegates to make up their minds....now.

  • How Fast is Too Fast for Women at the Beginning?

I started talking to a pretty and seemingly very sweet redheaded girl that's in two of my classes Monday. How do you think she'd respond to being asked to lunch after class on Friday, and how should I broach the subject?

  • Who Will Win the JP Losman Sweepstakes?

It seems obvious to me that the Bills are done with him, which I am personally disappointed with. He has some starting experience, was playing real well last year, has a great work ethic, excellent character...really can't complain about anything of that sort. He does have lingering accuracy issues, but I'm sure he'll be traded to an interested party come the off-season. Who will be interested, and who will win?

  • Who would you like to see your team look at?

Now that cuts are out, what players do you think your favorite team should take a look at? Being a Bills fan, I'm hoping we're looking at DEs, if only to get an idea of what's out there, as well as snag a 3rd-QB, just in case....

  • Takeo Spikes: Caveat Emptor?

Buyer beware or steal? Takeo Spikes is reportedly on the trade block for a mid-to-late round pick! Personally, I think the buyer is going to be disappointed. TKO looked like a car that had trouble starting and couldn't change direction...when he was on the field. He's coming off an ACL tear from two years ago and missed a lot of time last year with a nagging hamstring injury. Keith Ellison outplayed him(IMO) and is set to take over at weak side linebacker. So, what do you think? Do you want to take a chance on one Takeo Spikes?

  • Any Bills Fans Excited?

It's nice to know that the days of TD assuring the fanbase he will address the offensive line and then signing a bunch of scrubs are over! Whose excited to have Derrick Dockery, Langston Walker, and Jason Whittle to strengthen our line? 'Cause I sure as hell am! Make replacing McGahee a hell of a lot easier too...but he was replaceable to begin with...

  • Willis McGahee: Will Buffalo Trade Him, and Who Would be a Good Fit?

As you may know, there're rumors that One Bills Drive is very unhappy with running back Willis McGahee. Aside from mediocre production and not seeming to be a good fit for Fairchild's system, Willis has a battery of paternity suits on his hands as well as stating that the NFL should move the Bills to Toronto so he can have a better social life. As a Bills fan, I am open to trading McGahee for a first-day pick(rounds 1-3) and drafting a running back on the first day to compliment the A-Train and eventually be feature back...but what are your opinions?

  • What's the Best Way to Pursue a Shy Girl?

Yeah, I'm seeking more advice because I'm about as decisive as George McClellan with an advantage to press. I really want to at least befriend this very pretty girl I met at orientation a while back, but she seems very shy. Though she seems like a nice person from my limited experience, she has a very small circle of friends(her roommate and suitemates, 3 in all). I'm afraid that chasing her too hard will spook her into withdrawing herself entirely, but at the same time doubt she'd take the initiative herself if she wants a relationship(thus effectively putting the impetus on my indecisive, overthinking, still-pained shoulders), due to factors I believe I understand all too well. Any tips?

  • How 'Bout Them Dolphins?

Time to eat your crow Bills bashers! In any case, our run D still didn't look good, but it eventually became irrelevant anyways. JP was good enough, but Willis looked great! I think there's a good chance we'll end up 2-1. Bring on the Jests baby!
