  • My 1 year old son and discipline?

My son is 1 year old and he is learning to test his limits with me. There are certain things he is not allowed to mess with (ie. the TV), but I catch him playing with the buttons all the time. I get on to him, and move him away from the tv, and he throws a temper tantrum for about 10 minutes, then he's off again to the tv. We have done this over and over all day long for the last week. It seems like I am not getting through to him, but he is only 1. What can I do? I need help with a way to get him to leave the tv alone, but also, how do I deal with the temper tantrum he throws when he gets in trouble? Do I ignore him and let him throw his fit, or should he get in trouble for that too? Please help. I want to do it right, but I have no idea where to start.

  • Can someone give me some ideas?

Ok.. Here is my situation. My mother in law has never liked anything I have ever bought for her. She never even says "Thank you" after she opens a gift from me. She knows that in my marriage I do all the gift shopping so she always acts like she hates it. I bought her a beautiful diamond necklace for Christmas and she has never even taken it out of the box. I went to over 15 stores to find the right one for her, and I was so hurt that she didnt even say thank you. Now, here is my problem. Obviously, I should get her a gift for Mother's Day, even though I dont want to. I dont want to make my husband look bad by not sending her anything. I have totally run out of ideas and I am tired of shopping for days with no appriciation. What should I get her for Mother's Day?

  • Does anyone have any suggestions to help my 5 month old sleep?

My son is 5 months old and his doctor told us he is teething.Over the last week or so, he has stopped sleeping through the night. I can only assume its because of his teething because nothing else has changed. Last night he woke up every hour. Does anyone have any suggestions to releive his pain and help him sleep?
