Does anyone know how accurate the ultrasound (at 8 weeks) is at detecting multiples? ?
I am 13 weeks and HUGE. I only weigh 106 pounds so it's not fat and it's not just bloating. I look like I'm 5 months pregnant. With my first, I didn't show at all until about 18 weeks. I'm just wondering if there's any chance it's twins and they didn't catch that on the first ultrasound.
5 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoWhat to do with a two-year-old in Scottsdale, AZ?
We'll be there for 2 weeks this month--it'll be hot as you know what and my daughter is very active. What are some good indoor places to take her where she can run around? Thanks.
5 AnswersPhoenix1 decade agoWhere can I buy a purge valve for 99 jeep cherokee?
I need to buy a new purge valve for my 99 Jeep Cherokee. I can't find one online so far--does anyone know if there is a compatible one (i.e., if the purge valve for the Grand Cherokee would work)? Any sites that would explain this? Or simply locate where to buy the specific one for this make and year? Thanks.
1 AnswerJeep1 decade agoLadies, how do you keep from going insane every month?
I've been TTC baby #2 for 7 months and every month I get more crazy about it and more depressed than ever once I've convinced myself I'm pregnant and then AF rears her ugly head. What do you do to keep from feeling sorry for yourself? It seems selfish and ridiculous but I want another baby so bad! Any words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated.

1 AnswerEthnic Cuisine1 decade agoParents--has anyone gone through a due process hearing?
I am writing a paper and need a hypothetical situation in which a parent would want accommodations the school was not willing to provide; the school then orders a due process hearing to have their wishes granted. If anyone has gone through this process, can you share what happened? Thanks.
3 AnswersSpecial Education1 decade agoWould it be better to recieve services under Section 504 or IDEA?
This is a hypothetical question. If a student has ADHD, which law would provide better services, assuming the student qualifies for either one (IDEA and/or 504)?
9 AnswersSpecial Education1 decade agoOnce a child has an IEP, can it be taken away?
For example, if a child has ADHD and is put on medication that fully controls his symptoms, then the ADHD isn't technically a disability under IDEA. So can his IEP be taken away, making him ineligible for special education services?

He will be 34 on Dec. 2. He loves college football, martial arts (specifically mixed martial arts--Fedor Emelianekko is his idol), and meat of all kinds. I have a limited budget--creative ideas are a plus. Thanks!
3 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoSPSS question about Levene's test?
I ran a Levene's test to check the homogeneity of variance for an independent t-test. SPSS said the value for Levene's test (F) was .003, significance level .959. This was reported in the section "equal variances assumed." But I thought an F level below the significance level (alpha = .05) was significant and thus I can't assume homogeneity of variance? Can someone explain this to me? Can I assume that the variances are homogenous and proceed with the t-test? Thank you.
1 AnswerMathematics1 decade agoStatistics: Under what conditions would I want to reduce the chance of making a Type II error?
That is, if a Type I error is worse than a Type II error, why would I want to reduce my chances of making a Type II error by raising the significance level in an experiment? I am lost on the logic here, please help!
1 AnswerMathematics1 decade agostat question: What is the benefit of using a higher rejection level (e.g., .05 instead of .01)?
I know that by increasing the rejection level, you can reduce the chance of making a Type II error, but you increase the chance of making a Type I error. What is the benefit of increasing the rejection level? Thanks in advance.
2 AnswersMathematics1 decade agoDoes anyone else think this is stupid advice?
My pediatrician suggested getting my child up when she cries at night and giving her vegetables and rice cereal instead of a cup of milk (to save her teeth). I know that milk rots her teeth, but it's the only way I can get her back to sleep at 4 or 5 a.m. when she wakes up hungry and screaming. If she gets up for the day at that time, she hasn't had enough sleep and she's a wreck all day long. So I give her the milk. What do you think of the doctor's advice? I think it's stupid, but am I just being lazy? Any other suggestions? (My daughter is 17 months).

5 AnswersOther - Science1 decade agoWill putting bleach in our fountain kill birds?
Yes, this is probably a very stupid question--I know that too much bleach will kill the birds, but will a small amount (say a quarter of a cup?)--the fountain holds about 5 gallons of water and is getting pretty green and fuzzy. Is there an alternative that will keep it clean and is bird-friendly? Thanks.

4 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoDo you think it's safe to put barrettes in a toddler's hair?
My daughter takes her barrettes out and chews on them. She's never put them entirely into her mouth (but then I've always been there to take them away immediately). I don't mean to be a worry wart, but is it neglegent to leave them in her hair if she might put them in her mouth?
8 AnswersToddler & Preschooler1 decade agoScreaming toddler in daycare?
My 15 month old hasn't ever been in daycare. I want to take a kickboxing class at the gym, which offers free childcare. It's only an hour but everytime we go, she screams, the WHOLE time. I've left her with her grandma and other relatives; this is the first time with a non-relative. I don't get it, because ordinarily she loves to play with other kids. Any suggestions to get her to stop crying and enjoy herself? Anybody with a similar situation?
