Close family member with seizures, help?
My mother (whom I live with) has a seizure disorder. The doctor's have yet to figure out why, but they have her on Neuronten (sp) which is pretty much a downer that is also used to some pain. She has bad side effects from her medication, it's almost like she's sleep walking. She can't control most of her muscles, and she gets weak and limp, we've had to help feed her during these spells, and help her get to bed (a nap helps), she's told her neurologist about these, and he told her that she had to have a CAT Scan, and some other physical type test before he could change her medicine. Is this right? We are now in debt to a hospital for these tests that showed nothing, and he still didn't change her meds. Is Neuronten the most mild seizure medication she can have? Health rite (which helps pay for some procedures)doesn't want her to change doctors, but we might have to. I want to know, is he wrong?
2 AnswersOther - Health1 decade agoWeight problems, tired of it!?
Okay, I'm 16 years old and I am overweight. Not by a whole lot, but I keep gaining. I'm not eating any different than was about 6 months ago, and I'm actually more active. None of my clothes fit. I'm tired of it. I'm on the depo shot, which is a shot that is given every 3 months that stops all periods. That's nice, but weight gain is a side effect of it. I recently had my last shot, and I'm stopping, so I have about 3 months before it gets out of my blood stream. It may seem trivial, but I'm tired of nothing fitting. I have school starting again soon, marching band stuff, and a job. I don't have time to really eat right, or exercise, other than all the things I have to do that get me so worn out that I collapse as soon as I get home. Is there anything I can do until the Depo gets out of my system? I don't have much time, so advise for quick work outs or eating habits that would work would be much appreciated. Thank you!
