Is it really necessary to hire a professional videographer? All the quotes I have found for video packages start at $1000.00 That seems like a lot of money to spend on a thing you don't watch that much. We are spending a good amount on our photographer since you can put pictures in frames and such.

My fiance and I are marrying during lent of next year. Yes we have approval from the church and priest. We are not allowed to use flowers in the decorations beside the bouquets. The wedding is at 7pm and I would like to use candles to decorate the pews. Does anyone have suggestions for using candles as pew decorations?

Is it proper to throw and engagement party for yourself? My fiance` and I don't really know anyone that could throw an engagement party all by themselves financially. We are in a good place to throw one ourselves to announce the engagement but I have heard it is improper.
