Ok, so I have a tube; I want to place a resistor of some form, and a speaker of two on the tub, so that depending on which point of the bar I hit, a different note is produced.

So if I hit the far left, a very high note is produced, if I hit the far right, a very low note is produced, etcetera.

Any ideas?

Ideally a firefox addon, I'm looking for any technique which will allow me to alter the css of pages I don't control, purely as it appears on my machine. As in, say I wanted googles text to be blue, I could alter the css, and every time I loaded google, it would be blue (I'm not looking to change their web pages, I'm talking purely peronal client side, so just changes on my machine)

I want there to be a button that, when clicked, alters the style of another element. I can do this with javascript, but having refreshed the page, the alterations are gone. I want to create one that stays altered, and appears on other computers in the same fashion. help!?

However instead it is redirecting (The link shows how it redirects) That is the homepage, but it should be like that without redirecting. Any suggestions? (Index.html is set to redirect to that link, but having removed index.html alltogethor it did exactly the same.)

I'm kind of wrroied stuff like that might make it impossible?

I recorded some video, put it on a dvd to take to my work computer, ripped it off, and when I play the video (I'm wearing a striped shirt in the video) anytime I move, the stripes seem to fly across my shirt.

Any way to stop this? I'm guessing I did something wrong when I ripped it.

I'm setting up a hot desk at my office, and my boss wants complete access, so I've given him an admin account with a password, however he also wants the computer to be used by one of our juniors.

I'm setting up just a normal account for her, but I also want a few extra restrictions on there.

I want to disable installing of programs on the computer, as her job doesn't need that, and if it's possible I want to block her from accessing our printer.

Are either of these possible?

This idea sounds so simple, but the fact I've never seen it means it's either impossible or really pricey...

Is it possible to get a wireless transmitter you plug into a usb port in your computer, and a receiver/transmitter you plug into a normal usb item, which t relay commands to each other, effectively making any usb item wireless?

My pc is a pretty heavy duty one, only got it a couple days ago, and my probe is telling me it's idling around 55, and at any load goes to well above 60.

The specs are-

Quad core bloomfield

GTX 570

4gb ddr 1.33

1tb hard drive

I'm just using a set of 3 stock coolers that came with the barebones. Any better solution?

(I'm on a bit of a budget after buying that, and if getting watercooling involves removing the motherboard, I'm not interested!)

There's a process on my computer that wasn't there on friday. It's called watch.exe and it's name is watch dog. Any ideas?

I've created a video playing kiosk for a presentation my company is doing in a few weeks, however there is one rather large security fault with it-with a double touch (it's a touchscreen, but a normal pc on windows 7 otherwise) the video player closes, and the user can play around with the computer. Is there a way to lock the program into being fullscreen, or some function similar, so that the clients cannot mess around on our presentation machines?

I'm making a website for my company, and have a collection of images that change when you mouse over them (very old hat for any programmers out there) However, I've gotten stuck at a point after that. How do I have a second image (a grid image) overlaid or underlaid across these other images? If it changes anything, I'm using wordpress.

I have two monitors, and for a presentation I'll be doing in a few weeks, I basically want a piece of software that will display the dvd menu (with play all, or select episode etc) on one screen, with the rest of the settings controls (play, pause etc) and then the other screen only play the video. As in, if none of the options are selected, the main screen will be blank. Thanks!

I'd like it to be able to run andriod apps (I heard the samsung one didnt have access to the app store?)

Following on that, I'd prefferably prefer it to be andriod based. Lots of good apps for that one, and none of the Ipads faults. (I want to be able to plug in an sd card and watch vids off that, etc)

I'd like at least a 16gb hard drive, and I'm willing to splash out for more if possible.

I'd like to be able to surf, and hopefully use flash.

Look, the story is even more ridiculous, so I'll just ask the question.

I want a fairly reliable method of flying (physically above houses/low trees) in the direction I choose, for maybe...a mile or two...ish.

Now beleive me when I say I'm almost certain this isn't possible, but I'd like to know because it would...well...be flying.

I have a laptop, and just got a VGA 19 inch flatscreen, and I want to be able to dual monitor.

I'm trying to extend my desktop, but it happens on all modes.

The external monitor goes totally black after a few seconds, not just dim. I've worked out it's going to sleep, as I can move windows back and forth still, just I'm not able to see them.

I've tried it on anoher laptop as well, same issue (though they are simalar laptops)

The laptop has 4GB memory, nvidea 9600m, and is pretty sweet. Also, windows 7 ultimate 64 bit.

The second laptop was the same specs, but windows vista home 32 bit.

Anyone know what's causing this?

Hi, I'm a pretty serious gamer, but before now, I'd been solidly a pc gamer. I've finally decided to breach the walls of laptop gaming, but I need a bit of guidance.

Can anyone advise on the best laptop in the UK, for £500 or below, for playing games. I'm not looking for a crysis running supercomputer, but the best for my price-range would be good.

I'd quite like a dual core, with at least 2GB ram of course.

Beyond that it's mainly the best graphics card etc.

Any suggestions of the best websites, or even better, the best specific laptop I would be advised to get?

In the computer game half life 2, there is a sound file that gets played when you set a basic zombie on fire.
