  • Toy Story in 3D or Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs for my 3 year old?

I want to take my 3 year old little girl to her first movie at the theater this weekend. I think she would like Toy Story more, but I'm concerned that she won't want to keep the 3D glasses on. Which one would you recommend for a 3 year old? Toy Story in 3D or Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs? And why? Thanks!

  • My mom co-signed on a car loan for me. I'd like to trade in the car to acquire a lesser payment.?

My mom co-signed on a SUV for me 3 years ago because my credit is not great. I still owe about $13,000 on a 6 year loan. My payment is $450 a month. I would like to get a smaller car with lower payments. How do I go about this considering the car is in both mine and my mother's name?

  • Is there anyone who is a mommy, working full time, and going back to school full time?

I have a 3 year old. I work 40 hours a week, and I have just started back to college full time (13 hours) as well. I am 25. I have been out of college for 5 years now and I'm feeling very overwhelmed. I feel like I'm hurting my child because I will be spending so much time working and studying. I also feel so stupid right now. I've only been out of school for five years, but it feels so over my head right now.

Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.

  • When can I expect to lose weight?

I have been walking 2-3 miles (30-45 minutes) for the last week. I have also cut back on sweets, soft drinks, and fatty foods and began drinking more water. I have not lost a single pound in the last week. Is that normal? When can I expect to lose some weight by keeping up this routine of walking 5-6 days a week and eating better?

  • I have abdominal pain and back pain. What do you think could be the cause?

A little over 48 hours ago I began to have severe abdominal pain (upper and lower) and back pain. A heating pad would semi ease the pain. I took a muscle relaxer and that knocked me out, although I'm not sure if it eased the pain. The abdominal pain has moved more to the upper region as well as the back pain which is now more central and upper back by the shoulder blades. I have found that it hurts worse after eating anything. The pain is not unbearable, but it is constant and well... painful. The only diagnosis I have gotten from the internet is gallstones? Any other advice?

I hate to go to the doctor if its just gas or constipation. I have tried gas medicines though with no relief.

  • Should I take the annual raise or the one time bonus?

At my yearly evaluation I was offered two options.

    1 - I get a 5.25% raise (hourly).

2 - I can take the total amount of what the raise would equal annually as a one time bonus.

I would like to take the one time bonus simply to pay of a credit card bill and avoid the interest I would pay if paying it out over the next year. HOWEVER, I am concerned that at my next yearly evaluation I will be losing money because I didn't take the pay increase this time... any advice?

  • What would you do? Go on a mini vacation, pay off some debt, or save for a big vacation?

I have a three day weekend coming up. My fiance, daughter (she's 2) and I haven't been out of town in forever. So here are my options:

#1 - go to Austin, TX and just take it easy, go to pachildren'schildren's museum, and eat for a few days. we can stay at my dad's place there for free so we will only pay for gas, food, and entertainment.

#2 - stay home and put the money we would spend on vacation towards a credit card bill, put a little in savings, and get a haircut! hopefully we will be able to use our tax refund to take a little trip this summer.

#3 - put what we would spend on the vacation to austin away to save for a disneyland vacation in a year or so when our daughter is a little older.

The reason this stresses me out is because I know it would be good for my family to get out of town and spend time together. BUT I hate wasting money when we need to be paying off debt and saving for a house etc. What would you do and why?

  • Should I bring this up to my employers or not?

I work in pediatric healthcare as a benefit specialist, I bill insurance and work with patients and their finances etc. Recently a patient of ours was dismissed from therapy because she was not improving (and we needed the spot for someone who would likely improve) though that was not mentioned to anyone but me. I felt that was unfair, as there are many children at our practice that do not have the potential to improve, but we still see them. I spoke to my employers and they told me it was fraud to bill insurance for medical services that were not likely to produce results or improvements in the patient's condition. I understand that. However, the aforementioned girl was still turned away for therapy, and multiple patients still remain treated though its the same scenario. Should I speak to my employers about this or just do what I'm told? I bill the insurance, so am I commiting fraud? And is it my business that we are treating patients unfairly?

  • Should I ask my bosses when they will pay me for my extra work?

First of all I work for two women, one of which is my step-mother-in-law. I am a benefit specialist (insurance) at our pediatric therapy center. At a staff meeting they mentioned that they needed someone to correct and re-type our Policies and Procedures Manual which is a couple of hundred pages long. They asked if we knew anyone who would want to do that or if one of us would. I said that I would do it. Over a period of about a month I took it home at night and spend a few hours a night on it, they reviewed it and I made the necessary changes. It took me well over 20 hours of my time I could have spent playing with my toddler and I didn't clock in. It has been a few months and they still haven't paid me or even mentioned paying me. I could use the money, but feel like I shouldn't ask about it. What do you think? They never specifically said they would pay me or how much, so did I get screwed?

  • Getting married and want my child to have my married name.?

My daughter is almost two years old. Her biological father has never seen her, does not pay child support, and is not on her birth certificate. Only my name is listed on her birth certificate and her last name is also my maiden name. I have been with my soon to be husband since I was pregnant with my daughter. We moved in together before she was born and he is her father in all aspects other than his DNA. We are getting married soon and I would like to take his last name, but I want my daughter to have the same last name as well. I live in Texas. Is it possible to change her last name? What steps should I take? What are the laws regarding this in Texas? Anyone been in a similar situation? Any additional information is greatly appreciated.

Also, I do not want to contact the bio father to get him to sign his rights over, as I feel he might try to start something. He isn't the kind of man you would want your child around so I would like to avoid contact with him period. Since his name is not on the birth certificate, would I have to contact him in order to make the change I am requesting?

  • Do I buy a wedding gift for my fiance's friends who tried to get him to leave me and our daughter?

During a brief separation my fiance hung out with his best friend and his fiance. Let's call them Jason and Dusty. My fiance is very easily influenced. He used to smoke pot and they still do. Well of course while we were apart, he smoked with Jason and Dusty. Dusty gave my fiance her friends phone number and encouraged him to call her. Both Jason and Dusty supported my fiance leaving me and our daughter. My fiance and I are now working things out. He is not smoking and we are really on the right track at this time. However, in two weeks Jason and Dusty are getting married. My fiance is in the wedding so we have to attend. Should I buy the couple a gift and kill them with kindness even though they did me wrong? Or should I not buy them a gift and let my true feelings show? (And I don't mean I'm going to cause a scene at their wedding) I just mean I won't be fake nice. Thanks for your thoughts.

  • I feel animosity towards my fiance's best friend and his fiance. How do I deal with this?

My fiance and I have a 20 month old daughter and have been engaged and living together for almost two years. Several months ago my daughter and I moved out because of some problems my fiance and I have. We have recently reconciled and are working on our problems with the intent of us moving back in and getting married.

My problem is this. We don't have many friends. His best friend and his fiance were there for my fiance when I moved out. However, they smoke pot all the time and aren't really good influences though I don't feel they are bad people, I don't find the drugs acceptable at all. They let my fiance hang with them and smoke weed. The girl tried to get my fiance to talk to one of her friends. And when we got back together and one of our agreements is that he would never smoke again, the girl would call my fiance and tell him how disappointed she was in him. How should I feel about this? I feel angry and I don't want us to be friends with them. Am I wrong? How do I deal?
